The one SEC team that Butch has never lost to is giving him the business.

That's the spirit.

Hey Ky, don't be sad after you lose again. Deep down you knew it was gonna end that way.

Go Vols!

His dumbest, more divorced-from-reality statement is all the way down the list at #10. He's made statements that have gotten more attention and are probably funnier, but the statement that shows he truly doesn't "get it" is #10. There are at least 7 seasons within the last 20 years that were better than 2015 and 2016.

How about a list of all the words/phrases he just overuses:
- Individuals
- Resiliency
- "It all goes back to..."
- "That's a byproduct of..."
- Complimentary football
- Competitive depth/competitive character

No doubt there will be more material for the list each week that he's allowed to stick around the program.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck...it'd probably be a better in-game head coach than Lyle Jones. That said, I hope the team can find a way to beat Kentucky in spite of their resilient leader's shortcomings.

It sounds like he is reading a coaching football for dummies book every time he opens his mouth. Its terrible. The man is uncomfortable in his own skin.

"We talk about". Literally every question he answers starts off with that phrase.

10. “These last two years have been some of the best years in the last 20 years of Tennessee football.”
Currie will fire him for this statement alone.

It should. I had suspected Butch didn't truly "get it" for the last couple of years but this statement along with another Butch made and a statement Josh Smith made a few weeks ago confirmed it.

At SEC Media Days earlier this year, Butch said that the 2016 season "wasn't a disappointment." At least he was contradicted by Kendal Vickers later that day, who said it was a disappointment when asked the same question. But when Josh Smith said the week of the South Carolina game "We've gone from no bowls to going to bowls; what more can you ask for?" I almost threw up. It is like he has no concept of, is OK with, or is ignoring the opportunity they blew last year. And in 2015 too. If I was on this team, how the 2016 season ended would bother me every single day.

Butch is satisfied with 9 win seasons as the ceiling and that mentality has likely infected the whole team.

Josh Smith is good at hooking up with hot chicks but football, not so much.
