Tony Barnhart Interview with Fulmer.

Any speculation on where he might end up coaching if he gets an opportunity? I kind of think that he would want to stay in the SEC. Would he take the Kentucky job if offered? I think that Rich Brooks probably retire this year.

Fulmer coaching at Kentucky would be too good to be true.

I believe Joker Phillips is the head coach in waiting there.

No doubt, it seems Phil is the one that is having trouble moving on. He seems to be the one doing all the interviews about why he should still be coaching Tennessee.

He also took a couple of shots recently at Kiffin about how he shouldn't have extended his hand to Fulmer in public and about the Meyer comments.

I doubt Kiffin gives a damn or not but Phil needs to understand that Lane had nothing to do with his firing.

I'm still trying to figure out how answering questions someone else asks constitutes having trouble moving on.

They were saying on the zone last week they thought Louisville may be interested in him after this year. That would be a good fit and about as good as he could do, IMO. I don't see a bigger school than them giving him a serious look.

I have a funny feeling Fulmer thinks big time football programs would be interested in him if they needed a head coach. I just don't see it happening.

What about USCjr?????? They are not in a position to contend for a title like Fulmer wants, but that would be a good fit for him and them as well.

I would just like to see him just let it go and move on to the next phase of life. I think that he could do some good things for charitable causes, almost like what coach Tony Dungy has done with working with inmates. It doesn't necessarily have to be that but some other cause. But when you look at people like Brett Favre, you realize that its really hard for these guys to get football out of their blood. I wish Fulmer the best.

Don't all coaches do this every 2-3 yrs? :post-4-1090547912:

:eek:lol:

yea, changing seasons is not something every coach can do either...changing shorts, changing from one brand of donut to another....sounds like a great coach to me....:eek:lol:

I met Dungy recently and found out that he has been mentoring young men in prison since he was coaching in Tampa.

It is not the mere action of answering the question that most here object to. It is the content of his answers.

And that's why I said folks here are too sensitive. Reading the answers to the questions he sounds like a guy positioning himself for future employment.

So you guys want him to say "Man, I really screwed UT. I really have no idea what I'm doing anymore. Anybody want to hire me?".

Of course not. The resentment lingers, on both sides, but the one with the public platform i.e. numerous recent interviews is Fulmer. At the risk of sounding like my three-year-old niece, he started it. He can end it. Continuing to make negative comments about the past and future of UT, specifically those who replaced him, will get him nowhere. A simple ' I'm done with that chapter of my life, time to look forward' would suffice. No need for the billionth bitter post-mortem from him.

At least he would be telling the truth. lol

I'm really getting tired of all the Fulmer bashing. We have a new staff and a new year ahead of us - can't we just focus on that? Ripping a guy for defending himself is ridiculous. This year is going to be great fun and the Vols will be back - enough said.

Don't worry about it. They have the same type posters on the Kentucky and Alabama boards. Just laugh at them and move on.

Read the article... very good story. But what really told the story about the man are the comments afterwards. The general theme seemed to be "class" from most of the posts, and just scrolling through the page, I couldn't find a single negative comment about Tuberville.

Fulmer isn't even worthy enough to shine TTs shoes...

The UVA job is likely to be available at the end of this season. That could be a decent fit for Fulmer.
