Lofton isn't playing many minutes, and when he is, it seems deliberate that he usually passes to others, or the ball never gets to him entirely.

These sort of games are more efficiently used to get playing time for everyone. Lofton has been a little off, but there is nothing to be concerned about in my opinion. I have been to every exhibition and game thus far, and he looks just fine warming up.

He hasn't been out on the court for more than 6 minutes at a time, so he doesn't get into rhythm. Furthermore, it is not like these guys are playing anywhere near 100 % against the sort of competition they have face so far. Tennessee is as good as advertised this year in my opinion, but they are sleepwalking right now. And there is nothing wrong with that. Don't want to peak in November.

Lofton actually led the team in minutes with 22 (although that's not that many). It was a little concerning to watch him pass up a couple of 3 attempts that would have been money last year. I may be wrong, but I think that he knows he's off.

I realize he had 22 minutes, but I was saying he wasn't out there for more than 6 or so minutes at a time. He came in, and out, and in, and out, etc.

Yes, he did pass up those shots 6 feet beyond the arc that the student section (which I was in) begged him to take. Yes, he has taken and made those before... But why take that 30 to 40 % shot when you can dish it inside? If he is still struggling and shooting 1 of 5 a game at the end of this tournament, then I will eat my words and worry. But if you saw him at warm ups before the game and during half time, you know there is nothing wrong with his shot.

Lofton will be fine, but he won't score as much as last year. And that's a good thing for the team because it means we don't have to rely on him as much. "Deep" is a word you'll keep hearing about this team. Another one you should hear is "multiple."

With that said, I do believe the pre-season expectations have gotten into Lofton's head a little. I don't think he has the "big head," but rather the expectations of being a pre-season all american may be weighing on his shoulders a little. Once a few shots don't go down, you start trying too hard to be an all american instead of just letting the game flow through you. He'll calm down in time.

As crazy as this sounds because Lofton's range, I wonder if moving the 3 point line has thrown him off a bit?
