Heard him on the radio in Nashville today and it was all respectful coach speak. Some yocal Knoxville media boob probably got b!tch smacked for asking a stupid question.

I haven't heard this and would be surprised. The marine doesn't usually start fights in the media, he ends them. Just ask UNC and Everett Withers.

Derek came into school. I think Coach Walsh personally recruited him. He deserved to get a scholarship, got a scholarship. One of the things about quarterbacks, they throw to guys that are open and catch the ball. That's what he was able to do consistently. That was on a really good football team.

I think the best relationship was, I was coaching the offensive line, he used to live with those guys. He said they used to come home and complain and gripe about me all the time. He said he stuck up for me, so I'll take him for his word.

Did you think he would get into coaching?
I was surprised. I knew that he was going to law school and got his legal degree. He ended up marrying Patrick's sister. She was a doctor. All of a sudden, like my son, he loses his mind and gets into coaching.

Us "Tennessee people" have been getting disrespected by everybody and they're going down there as underdogs? WTF ever Tom, keep using that b.s. excuse to try and motivate your team, the team that the majority of the nation thinks will win this game. Tennessee is a powerhouse program that has been treated like dirt for the last few years. Our fans see a glimmer of hope for an above average season and there is nothing wrong with the fans getting excited about that. Take a little trip to espn.com, cbs, and whatever else website and then try to b**** and moan about getting no respect.
