We’re a mid level team and we’ll never again compete for championships etc. The truth is our last 12 years have been almost identical to the 12 years Alabama had prior to Saban’s arrival. The right coach immediately changes everything. Now...I doubt our new coach is our saban. Nobody has ever accomplished what Bama has over the last decade. But our fans don’t expect that either. We expect to be in the conversation for the sec east year in and year out.

KY and Ole Miss are better programs than UT right now. By my estimate UT is just above Vandy, and that's not by much. It is what it is.

Does it not occur to our fanbase that if we can stabilize the program and show some patience, and just get to the KY level of (admitted) mediocrity, we have established a basis for taking the program to the next, higher level?

Fans who think that in a couple of seasons we go from the disasters of the last few years, to truly competing with Alabama, UGA, or the Gators, are deluding themselves. It is going to take time.

I'm hopeful, now that Hamilton-Hart-what'shisname-Fulmer had no part in the last two hires. MAYBE the administration has been shaken awake by the noise of ridicule from the sports world at what was once one of the premier powerhouses of the SEC. Has becoming the laughing-stock of college sports ANGERED them almost as much as it has the fans? I'd love to see it all fixed before I get too old to even care.
