While it is a bit early, going into the LSU game, Todd McShay had HH at the #6 QB to be drafted next April. Based on his performance in the LSU game and all the good press he is receiving right now, anyone want to time stamp a different outcome in the draft? (and this mind you, is based upon HH not returning for his 8th NCAAF season...!)

With every sportscaster promoting Levis, even as turnover prone as he is, I still expect him to go before Hooker. If Hooker stays healthy, which is questionable, (seems like teams are trying to knock him out of the games) and continues to perform at the level he has through the first 5 games, and somehow manages to not throw an interception, I would think GM's would have to consider him over Levis.

I think he is about the 3rd best NFL prospect, I think he is the #1 college QB. Name me a QB that means more to his team than HH?

It would seem that the so called NCAAF guru's on ESPN and even CBS understand the field of possible HH applicants, so if they are both touting HH4H, then one would logically have to deduce that Hendon goes higher than the #6 QB in the draft. Today, a solid 4 if not 3. Will remind myself to revisit this post come late November.

Hopefully he becomes a titan or raider. Titans took Malik last year tho so I doubt it happens

I hope he goes that early but I don't believe he will.
Now if the team goes 11-1 and wins a new years bowl game, yes I could see it.

While that scenario would be awesome, I think if we end up with 10 Wins, including an above average bowl Win, a lot of NFL teams are going to look at him seriously. I mean, the NFL is soooooo desperate for good QBs because numerous teams keep having to attempt to jump start the careers of old ailing QBS and or marginal QBs, such as Cousins, Tannehill, Bridgewater, Winston, etc.

The draft is all about potential and with the success that Josh Allen has had with the Bills you can understand why people are are high on Levis. He has similar measurables to Allen and plays in a pro style offense so he’s easy to project into the NFL.

Hendon’s profile is a bit trickier, his mechanics are a tad unorthodox and he’s hard to evaluate because Heupel’s system is quite different than anything that’s being run in the NFL right now. I’m sure scouts would also like to see him bulk up a bit so he can withstand hits better.

TLDR; Levis is viewed as “NFL ready” while Hooker is more of a longer term project.

Hooker is going to get dinged for two things in the draft:
1) The system he produced the most in is not a perceived NFL, or pro-style, system
2) His age - guy is already 24, be 25 I think around draft time. Doesn't sound like a couple of years would matter but that's the kind of crazy things NFL GMs look at come draft time.

My opinion, he'll fall to a late 1st round, early 2nd round pick at around 5th or 6th QB.

His age is a good point I hadn’t considered that.

He's exactly what pro teams are looking for these days but he'll go #3. Hope he goes to one of my teams so I can start watching again. Quit pro fb when Peyton retired.

NFL is still, 100 years later, just an offshoot of college ball. The proof is the fact that they still have players introducing themselves by which college they graduated from on every broadcast.

I think he'll go about 4th. Could be 3rd, could be 5th, but right around 4th.

Having said that, I think he is the #1 college QB playing this year. His skill sets may not all translate to the NFL quite as tightly as a Stroud or Young, but man does he know and ball out with the college game.

Go Vols!

90 Vol Nationites have spoken... and third round seems to be the consensus. Lots more football to play and dragons to slay.

I say....we're gonna miss the hell outta this guy. No matter who takes over, he's not going to be Hooker out of the gates. Gonna be some struggles and growing pains I suspect. Enjoy this kid while he's here.
