Vols coach Butch Jones confirmed on Monday that Kelly will wear No. 24 this season in honor of Zaevion Dobson, a Fulton (Tenn.) High School player that was killed shielding friends from random gunfire.
Dobson was honored by ESPN last month during the ESPY Awards, where his family was presented with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. It was accompanied by a 12-minute video, which included comments from President Barack Obama.
Kelly played high school football at nearby Webb School of Knoxville.

TKjr does represent UT well. I was around the team a few times last year and TKjr was always a class act! Heck most of the team was but TKjr always stood out.

It IS a classy thing for TKjr to do. But yeah, it does take a couple of games to get accustomed to seeing a new number on a player.

Oh well, if Kesling can handle it, I can too.

Lucky to have met and been around TK a couple times personally, and from my interactions with him this move doesn't surprise me at all. He's exactly the kind of guy I want representing UT football.

This young man is going to have a great year... especially with the interceptions, he is clutch.
