my grandmother used a willow tree whip. those things could sting. dad was just the belt. he'd come out and do this thing where the leather smacked against itself. scared the crap outta me. still would today

THe worst whipping I ever got was with a flyswatter. The plastic part came off and all that was left was the wire.

Oooo that hurt!

Grandparents used to make us pick a switch from a tree or a belt from the closet (thanks for giving me options). My parents used two wooden paddles wrapped around tape and it did not feel good. Also got the bar of soap in the mouth a couple of times as well.

I had to go pick a switch as well. Dad used the belt. Mom had a paddleball paddle, minus the ball of course. Sometimes the staple would still be there. That sucked.

My grandparents owned a bee farm. Every time I'd do something that would upset them, they would make me stand under one of those bee hives while grandpa stood at a distance and shot at the hive with a b.b. gun.

My old man was a belt/ bare hander.

On another whipping note...

I have some buddies from up north and we got into the discussion of getting your ass busted in school with a padel. Well, my friends from up north seriously thought I was kidding when I told them in Elementry school if you acted up you'd get that ass whipped.

Also got the switch and flyswatter belt more than anything. One time I had a loose tooth and I said something to mom she didn't like so she slapped me in the mouth so hard it actually knocked the tooth out it flew across the room. ahhh childhood.

I still bust my kid's butt and she gets compliments all the time for being well behaved.
Some of the things kids get away with today are just ridiculous.

I hate when a kid is screaming in public while their parents ignore it and continue yapping like it's not happening.
