I don’t think there has ever been a day that I have been more proud to be a part of Volnation! Today we took a stand! Today we said we were no longer going to get walked on! Today said we are no longer go to let out of touch boosters and administrators determine the fate of our program! Today we showed that we have a loud voice that can be heard! Remember this day Volnationers! Remember this as the day that we stood up to those in power and showed that this is OUR program and WE are the true caretakers of Vol Football! Stay united my fellow volunteers we have a long road ahead of us and WE will ensure that this program gets back on the right path!

Never been more proud of Vol Nation regardless what happens. Screw Currie! Him and Haslam can kick rocks. The egg is on their face.

You know something I don't. have they rescinded the offer to shiano?

Well, there's no press conference now and the state legislature is moving to block the hire if it comes to that. I'd say momentum has shifted toward spiking this hire.

I agree, the way we stood against this shows that we have a voice. We already have a bad football team, but to smear the University's integrity is something that I won't stand for. I will not support a University that can hire someone that turns a blind eye to something like what was going on at Penn State.

There is no way this deal gets done from both sides. Reports are that SchiaNO is intimidated by our fanbase and Curry is getting severe backlash, even from the U.S. Press Secretary and a few TN Representatives.

Proud to be part of VolNation! We put a stop to this & defended our program for incompetent administration and boosters! Don't lose faith! Go Vols!

AMEN! It is time VOL fans are no longer being the laughingstock of the SEC and most of the NCAA football ranks due to idiotic hires by our athletic director. The more fire goes up before a contract is signed the better chance a contract will not be signed.

As I see it, Currie would have a lot less flack if he got Kiffin back with a huge UT friendly buyout, on a $4.5 million salary to start, along with a generous performance incentive package. That would leave room for $$$ to spend on great coordinators and assistants. This would be a much better option, I believe, than Greg Schiano and the baggage he would be bringing in. I've heard that he is very difficult to work with (forget the sources).

I'm proud of VolNation and this thread.

If Currie was going this far down then he should have pulled the trigger on Kiffin.

Don't want any pedaphile protector down here.

What in the hell is Currie thinking??????????

The only meeting I want to hear from... is the board of D's with Currie's walking papers in hand.

Yes the power of social media has been on full display. Some will say it's #grumor backlash and that we feel we deserve a better coach but that isn't our motive today.

Today we took to the most powerful voice we have as a collective and let it be known, winning and losing comes second to the responsibility and integrity it takes to lead our great University.

Even if the allegations are false just the perception of the horror that took place at Penn State would become synonymous with UT football. We definitely deserve better and I hope our University would value integrity over wins and losses.

Therefore we turn to the reasons why this even became about. We need to find the sources of the writer who released the story and see if there's any truth behind Tennessee potentially hiring this guy.

Because if Currie even considered hiring this repugnant individual then Currie's job needs to seriously be reevaluated and see if he is fit for Duty.

My opinion is UT and our AD were about to be used to restore the luster of a very tarnished guy in the coaching fraternity. Meyer hired him and basically hid him until the powers that be could sort of slide him in somewhere, we've already seen the argument "well OSU had no problem with him." That may be true then but they do tonight, supposedly there is a protest being organized to have him gone starting tonight! Schiano should never have been considered IMO, certainly never offered the job, and last it does make it easier to get a Kiffin or Petrino in here for this next step. Does anyone actually b elieve Schiano had a chance to be successful here at UT? No, but someone was able to sell that Currie and THAT says tons about what poor hire he has been in his short time on The Hill IMO. Schiano could find himself out of the coaching profession altogether after VN did it's thing and that to me is a good thing.

Last I checked, Schiano has done absolutely nothing wrong. If he had done something wrong, he wouldn't be working at Ohio State, would he? So all of this outrage over Schiano is utter stupidity--the southern morality police in action, same people who like sending money to evangelical con men. You can't make it up.

synonymous with UT? Is the pa. state episode synonymous with Ohio State, where Schiano has worked for years? Should everyone who worked at pa. state while Sandusky was around be tarred and feathered? Sandusky wasn't a Pa. State employee. You all need to be hosed down and spend a year taking logic lessons.

This is an example of how conspiracy theories are lapped up by ignorant people. Schiano, who did absolutely nothing wrong, is suddenly "repugnant"--as much to blame as Sandusky himself, apparently. The hiring of Schiano is fine; the irrational reaction by the pixilated morality police is what's truly embarrassing.

I couldn’t be anymore proud of our fans for standing up for what we believe is wrong.

We deserve a great coach whom has great integrity and whom will win us ball games.

Agree, this is really pathetic and embarrassing. There are some fools who may have made a lasting mistake

The lasting mistake was hiring a man who was fatally flawed and a complete failure in the only high-level position he held...and that is a given for anyone who watched him in action in Tampa Bay.

The statement regarding Schiano's awareness of Sandusky's activity was made under oath. Schiano had the opportunity to sue the individual who made the statement.

He has yet to do so.

When he gets fired from OSU please come back to us.
