Mississippi newspaper The clarion ledger apparently thinks that ole miss can run and pass on us at will and our offense numbers only high because of weak opponents. So should we still play the game or forfeit?

I think our defense is pretty bad. We seem to do alright on first and second down. But seems when it's third down we usually play soft and end up giving the first even if it's 3rd and 10 or 3rd and 15. Go back and watch previous games. It's worrisome.

If their D is as bad as everyone is saying I think it'll be a close game. Unless we get a few stops then we could run away with it.

Only time will tell.

I really hope they didn't actually write that. I guess they think those Ole Miss offensive performances against Louisville, Austin Peay and Tulane were heroic lol.

This kind of stuff is what makes the Florida game so irritating. We have an unquestionable identity in every game this year, except one, where (to everyone’s shock and awe) we magically forgot how to play football.

Just like we do against Florida EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.

So now we’re stuck wondering “Are we only good on offense because Mizz/SC are that bad? Did Florida expose us or is that another fluke?”

I absolutely HATE that we open SEC play with them every year. I want a world renowned scientist to come figure out why we forget how to play when we go up against Florida.

Our 3rd D is ranked 73 (.381), Ole Miss 71 (.380) which really isn't that bad. 46th overall. Ole Miss D 101.

They are aware our best running back is out for the game and Jabari Small our #2 is banged up…….. sets up nicely for Old Miss unfortunately:(

Look beyond the scoreboard in the FL game. We weren't settled on the QB position. We played them tough and missed opportunities. If a few dropped passes were caught it would have been a completely different game.

Florida gashed Tennessee's defense for 283 rushing yards on 40 carries. Pittsburgh threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns against the Vols. Ole Miss' potent offense, led by quarterback Matt Corral and a trio of top-flight running backs, will be able to take its pick on how to expose the Tennessee defense.

Also, totally different team now that we aren't 3-and-out every drive.

Also, Matt Corral is not in Pickett's league.

You could pretty say the same about Ole Miss.
Look at the stats/rankings. More actually favors UT and they're at home. OM hasn't proven anything.

Edit: that said I think OM pulls it out.

Good thing Ole Miss doesn’t play a whole lot of defense. This game will be a shootout..

I don’t know what will happen.

However I do know that Mississippi gave up 24 to Louisville, 17 to Austin Peay, 21 to Tulane, and allowed Arkansas to score more points than they did vs Rice and Georgia Southern.

I KNOW Mississippi’s D is trash.
