Why?

Is it because you're scared of Florida's 56 ppg against Western Ky and Troy?

Wait a minute....who?

I mean seriously, I hope the Gators think the same way you do. If Florida walks in to Ben Hill Griffin and tries to play us like they did those 2 teams, they are going to be surprised to find out that we arent Troy and Western KY.

Maybe you're scared of Tim Tebow. Yeah, the QB that has yet to start in a big-time SEC game. The QB that has yet to play against a secondary half as good as ours and linebackers that cant come close to the speed of ours. He'll be doing all this for the first time, and probably in the rain.

Which brings me to the rain. If it does rain, which last time I checked it was 50%, I think this increases our chances of winning by a HUGE lot. Why?

-Neutralize Florida's speed. Percy who?

-Can they run the option so effectively in the rain with a wet ball? Eh.

-How well can Tebow sling the ball around in the rain?

And finally, Florida gave up 31 points to Troy. 17 of those in the 3rd quarter. Sad really.

Florida's defense just may be worse than ours. 336 total yards to Troy. Their DB's still have not recorded an interception even against the 2 cupcakes.

I mean I really just dont understand why some of you guys are so scared of Florida. Sure they are defending national chaps and all but that was last year. They lost 8 defensive starters. 8. Sure their offense has looked good but once again, look who they've played.

IMHO Florida hasnt done much of anything to impress me and I think we match up very well with them.

This game is going to be an offensive shootout. That being said, I truly believe that the experience and senior leadership of EA will prevail.

I don't think anyone has written off UT. I think we have a chance given that Tebow's never been asked to win a real football game and his throwing is far more suspect than the media talks about.

However, our defense was a disaster against Cal, a soft football team IMO. Don't really know yet how our D compares to their D, but I suspect they're pretty comparable. Their O puts a lot of pressure on defenses to make decisions (not our strong suit). Our O appears to be decent but unable to stretch the field. If those units all a wash (and I don't believe they are) then it falls to special teams and coaching. Where does that leave us?

Before the UT-Cal game, most Vol fans were saying "Cal who?"

Before the UT-USM game, most Vol fans were saying "Sorry CUSA team."

Now the fans are saying "What great and tough competition we had in the first 2 games."

Do you really think Florida was showing everything in their first 2 games?

I think not.

The Vols had to bring it all and still lost to a "sissy Pac-10 team." And they had to bring it all again to escape defeat at the hands of a CUSA team.

Gimme a break.

This one ranks at #3...

Anyway, what does the opinion of the UT 'FANS' have to do with UT losing to a good Cal team. No one here underestimated USM and neither did the players. I garuntee the team didn't underestimate Cal either.. we just got beat.

You posts have no point.

All the female fightin', people posing as Vols.....women I say, nothing but women, it is always a womans fault!

Oh, I thought you might be using the jr. high questioning my masculinity tactic, which might have worked to some degree then, but that's a very weak might have.

to get back on topic, i think most of us that are doubtful tomorrow, will acknowledge that of course we have a chance. it's just.....well, it's just a lot of things. the d against what appears to be a very good offense. CPF being 0-2 aginst Meyer. at the swampt. etc, etc, etc....

it's not a sin to look at all that and maybe say FL might have the edge in this one.

and as i've said many, many times before, i still wouldn't be absolutely shocked should we win either. i just don't expect it right now.

I think we CAN win, I just don't think we will win...

And I'm sure the Gators have been preparing for this game for months... No matter what they say about the first 2 games, Meyer obviously emphasizes rivalries, so I don't think UF will look flat. I can hope they will though.
