To someone who knows, please tell me I'm right.

That letter indeed does not specify a term. It does however state Currie is suspended pending investigation of termination for cause. That’s pretty clear. Wow.

I don’t agree. The board of trustees is chaired by bill Haslam. They’re also like 30 people. They can’t form a consensus and that be effective

I am guessing people don’t expect the Haslams to just accept today’s coup and let it lie at that is all.

And that’s understandable. I will be shocked if they don’t make anymore plays either. It’s up to diligence on the UTK admin and other boosters to assist in controlling them.

I would guess this was the first very bloody and very public battle in this civil war. I would guess the next rounds will be fought between the BMDs out of the public eye. But the gauntlet is cast at least now. It’s open war it appears... finally.

You'll never get Fulmer out of that AD's office now. He'll hire a real coach and we'll get back to doing what Tennessee does , kick azz.

That today's firing of Currie and the hiring of Fulmer is nothing more than a power struggle between owner Haslam of the Browns and The Board of trustee's at UT and Haslam lost power and influence today. I wouldn't let him have control over my dog's turd. The guy is a total loser. Educate me, fellas.

I doubt it'll be that easy. We'll see what happens with the hire. And if the hire works out in 1 year from now.

Haslams are super rich and also happen to be the governor and the family owns the Cleveland browns. He is essentially the majority owner of the UT football family not to mention his dad played football for the Vols. The prob is if you piss him off he can threaten to not build the stadium and or won't donate money to the school. Is anyone in on this board willing to donate 50 mil tomorrow to pay for the football coach. ?? Prob not. That's why big boosters run ****.

The BoT are generally people hand picked by the Governor as political favors. The very Governor you mention as being the head of the BoT. The Haslam's weren't overthrown. They simply sold Currie down the river to try and take public heat off themselves.
