My wife has done ride a longs with Memphis PD. Says they have opened her eyes to both sides.

I believe it.back in the late 80's I used to ride with a buddy that was in Metro Nashville's central sector.... Basically downtown and around the loop. I saw all kinds of things that were both good and bad.

Most of the time after I'd witness another cop really giving a guy hell my buddy would give me the history between them after we'd get back in the car. They run into the same ignorant BS with the same ignorant thugs over and over until both sides are on edge.

Think about Ras and the selling of loose cigarettes Eric Garner. The cops were sick and tired of seeing his big behind doing something stupid and having to deal with calls on him and he was tired of being harassed.

The only issue with that is they only have 1 register open at that time. Meaning you could easily find yourself waiting in line for 20-30 minutes. Other than that, I agree. The middle of the night is the best time to go there.

This is the main reason I hate Walmart. They never have enough registers open.

This chart has some interesting figures on it, like how legal weed is having a hard time competing against medical marijuana. Also, it shows they aren't getting as much revenue as expected. However, as these articles explain, whatever they aren't making in actual tax revenue, they're getting back by spending tens of millions per year enforcing petty weed violations. They're saving a ton of money avoiding those costs. Medical marijuana has an unfair advantage over legal pot- many who wanted to smoke got their medicinal license before it became fully legal, and now they can buy it cheaper than those without the license. This is admittedly an issue for the legal dispensaries, as many of their potential customers have a cheaper alternative in place already.

Legal pot in Colorado: One year in, the state’s experiment with retail marijuana has been a sweeping success.

How Is Marijuana Legalization Going? The Price Of Pot Peace Looks Like A Bargain. - Forbes

Such a failure though. :whistling:

I would guess medical mj is winning so they can have a pseudo doctors note on test day.

Nope....we need families that stay together and raise their children to be good citizens....We need to be allowed to punish our kids and hold them accountable when they do wrong. Our kids need to be taught how to handle failure so they can know how to work towards success. I am thankful that we have cops out there dealing with these issues though.

No fault divorce and The Murphy Brown baby mommas have destroyed families.

You'd be incorrect. Medical marijuana got in before legalized pot for everyone. So, a lot of the people who really wanted to smoke and not get imprisoned for it went and got the medicinal card. I'm not going to pretend like most of those people needed it, but they worked the system so they wouldn't get in trouble from bull**** laws, which is completely understandable. They get a very good tax break due to the prescription status. When legalized pot becomes available for everyone, a lot of the people who wanted to smoke already have their cards and can get it for a lot cheaper than the retail price. What's the solution to this?

I'm not sure. Marijuana does have a lot of great medicinal properties, and I support it being cheaper for those who actually need it versus those who just want it. The problem is, since we've had to go through this bull**** process of stages, from medicinal legality to recreational legality, a large population of smokers got their card and they're paying the discount price when they probably should be paying the retail price. I don't blame the people for that. I blame the governments that allow for the abuse of the system to occur, which never would have happened had marijuana just been made legally recreational to begin with.

Shot in the head for trying to start his car during a silly traffic stop. I can't wait for the inevitable "he brought it onto himself" comments.

The video of the actual shooting is very hard to watch. I do not believe in the state killing people, but I think I'm willing to make an exception for this guy. That was an execution plain and simple. This cop needs to be removed from the streets.

War on Drugs: Putting nonviolent offenders in jail and away from their families

Let's say you win and that mind altering drugs become legal and easily obtainable. Since there are so many 'downtrodden po folk' out there, what are you gonna do when half the population becomes brain damaged?

Why do you think legality is preventing someone from screwing themselves up on drugs? Obviously, people who want to self destruct are doing it whether the substance is illegal or not.
