WV, UF, and Mizzou are Three games considered Tossups. To become bowl eligible, which of these does Tennessee win? I think 2! UT goes 7-5!

So we're assuming that UK & Vandy are wins?

I think Mizzou is probably our best match-up there, plus we have them at home. If our DBs can contain Lock, we should win - then again, we're still yet to see if our run stopping has improved from last year - specifically on the D-Line. WVU is a scary team offensively so I wouldnt bet on that game. UF is a mystery to me. No idea what to expect there with a new coach.

Tennessee has the best chance to beat three OOC teams then there are several toss up games imho:
Florida
West Virginia
South Carolina
Missouri
Kentucky
Vanderbilt
Unfortunately, we have three nearly certain losses in Georgia, Alabama, Auburn but I do believe UT can go 3-3 vs. the toss up teams. If we can get decent qb and o-line play, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility to go 4-2. On the flip side, if we get inconsistent or poor qb and o-line play then 2-4 or 1-5 with the toss up teams isn’t unrealistic either

I think we all have a better idea after the WV game. I find myself eager to get in this type discussion after we see what we have to work with.

Good post. IMO though the deciding factors between 2 wins vs those teams and 6 or somewhere in between is injuries and defensive improvement. Fortunately... that is Pruitt's forte. In particular CB's which could be huge if the Vols can get improved play there.

I'm the odd ball I guess in not worrying too much about the OL. Chance Hall is a very good OL if he stays healthy. Smith fills whatever gap they can't close. Richmond has enough talent to be really good with the right coaching and techniques. Kennedy seems to have solidified the C position. I just feel between these guys and others there is more than enough talent to put together a solid OL.

I think Mizzou is the most underrated of the bunch. Drew Lock is a very good QB. Between him and Grier, it's close to a toss-up IMO. But Mizzou has a better running game than WV and their defense has a pulse. With Odom taking the defense back over, I expect improvement there, as well. I wouldn't be shocked if Mizzou finishes 2nd in the East.

Both Florida and West Virginia are overrated this preseason. Both games will be tough, don't get me wrong, but for some reason sportswriters think Florida is going to go from a disaster of a season last year into a SEC contender this year. I see it more like a 2-3 year turnaround job for Mullen.

West Virginia's defense is terrible. Holgorsen is a consistently mediocre coach. Even their offense is a bit overrated, as most good defenses limited it last year. Grier is great and the WRs are great, but they are the most beatable of the 3 IMO.

South Carolina should also be in there. Getting a lot of preseason love, but we've seen Muschamp bomb before. It'll be a tough game, but it's another winnable one.

Of the 4, I see WV and Florida as the most likely for us to win. Biggest disadvantage with WV is that it's the opening game and we are breaking in new philosophies (and coaches) on both sides of the ball. But on a talent basis, I think we're a much better team than WV.

I have no idea why people think Mizzou will be a push over. I totally agree they will most likely finish second in the east. I actually see UF as the most likely to win of the games listed. Simply because they have no QB at this point and neither do we so I give is the advantage with home field

Wins hopefully are all four non-conference games and if we lose won definitely 3 and 1.
SEC tossups Missouri, Florida, SC
Should win Vandy, Kentucky even though Ky could be a tossup game as well.
Our best certainly looks like 9 and 3 our worst should be at least 5 and 7. I predict 7 and 5.
