To Current and Potential Recruits

Good grief, some of you folks are pitiful. I agree with everything you said Chattvol, or whoever you are. Maybe no recruits read this stuff, and with the attitude some of you have,im hoping they dont. Why can't you say something positive about Tennessee without being called a "Fulmerite"? You people boo all you want if it makes you feel better, and bash Fulmer,Chavis,Crompton,Cutcliffe,Clawson, etc. if it makes you feel more like a man. On a serious note:just in case a recruit does read this, don't worry fella, every team has this kind of fans (some of you may have read this type of junk when Bama was looking for a coach, and when Uga was looking for a coach), don't worry, when things turn around for us, they will be back on the bandwagon.
Yay! The ship's not sinking!

no the ships not sinking, even though i see rats jumping overboard.

Nobody is jumping off the ship here. We just realize the captain of that proverbial ship is heading for the reef, and would like for him to change direction or let someone take the wheel who knows where the crap he is going. Anyone who thinks this program is heading in the right direction isn't paying attention. And when you have a captain at the helm who is stubborn and self-destructive, you have a recipe for disaster.

exactly...this is what i am saying. we should seriously consider putting Chattvol64 (or whatever/whoever that is) in touch with CPF so he can be in on the recruiting missions. have him write letters to the recruits and then they will stay. wait...now that i think about it, that isn't a very good idea. that would cost the university money, and since the recruits come to volnation to see if they want to go to school here or not, itis already a free service. maybe he does have a point.:)

If you have communicated your verbal commitment or are considering a commitment to the University of Tennessee, I urge you to disregard most of the negative posts from us disgruntled fans. All of us armchair quarterbacks and couch coaches try to force our opinions and ideas about football on how best to make the Vols a better football team. Hey, there are some great ideas and suggestions that make complete sense, but CPF and staff make the final decisions and they are who leads this team. The decisions they are making at this point are not the greatest, but I have no doubt that they are trying to make things better.

The Universtiy of Tennessee is one of the great traditions of college football. Neyland Stadium is one of the greatest stadiums in the country to play in. As a fan, it gives me chills just to watch the team come out of the tunnel and run through the power "T" formed by the Pride of the Southland band. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to be a member of the Vols and participate in such a storied event. And that's even before the team takes the field and lines up against the greatest teams in all of college football.

The SEC is the most prominent conference in all of college football. The best coaches all want a job in the SEC. The south is college football heaven. To run out onto the field and playing before upwards of 110,000 cheering fans every Saturday is enough in itself to lure great football tallent.

But at the University of Tennessee it's more than just recruiting tallent. We want great students also. The academic programs offered at UT are incredible and when it's time to graduate you can leave with the utmost confindence that after football you can lead a very productive life.

A few of you may be straddling the line because of coaching rumors and the buzzards circling CPF's house. But one thing you need to know for sure is that even if CPF does step down, the Vols can do nothing but get even better. CPF is a great and honorable man who has led this team to a NC. We are greatful to him and his staff. But the game seems to be passing him by and he's not making the adjustments needed to keep up with the rest of the college football nation.

Don't let the boos and hecklers discourage you from commiting to UT. You really need to look at that as an opportunity to say "Hey, I can make a difference. This team is in dire need of help and I'm just the person to come in and turn this thing around." Incoming JUCO and/or freshman alike can make a difference for this team if your willing to lay it on the line and give your all for the University of Tennessee. Let's build a strong team and win a National Championship together. Stand tall and proud and make the commitment to join the storied tradition that is The University of Tennessee.

we also have a sunsphere you can see when walking downtown and dollywood is less than an hour away. wow. the more i read this the more i am amazed that someone is trying to sell the program to recruits on volnation.com.

There are many people on this board who appear to be making it their personal mission to do what that can to affect a coaching change. To the point they are hoping for losses, choosing not to attend games, sending back their season tickets and sending emails to Hamilton (or so I a have read). I see nothing wrong with someone else deciding to do what they feel they can to encourage recruits to stick with the University.
