...Tebow weren't to play?

I'd say probably not. UT's offense vs. Florida's defense is the real battle anyway.

The ball bounces funny. Human beings make subjective officiating calls.

Those are UT's best chance for any sort of success versus UF.

Honestly, if I was a UT fan, I'd be hoping for Brandon Spikes to miss the game more than Tebow. He's the heart and soul of the defense. Him and Ryan Stamper.

The d isn't near as good as the offense. The D built it's rep in a garbage offensive conference. The o did it's thing against some serious defensive talent.

Playing solid in all three phases of the game might go a long way in helping the cause. Its been a long time since we've done that against UF. I think even if we have a great game, depth will be a issue late in this one. Its hot, muggy and they have more body's

Counter the homer threads.......???

Homer threads are out numbered now. Even the posting in attempted homer threads is negative. No official numbers, just an observation.

So in response to a countering a homer thread I say we beat UF by 21+ with tebow!

Since we are pretending, let us all imagine that BJ Coleman signed on with Florida, became the back up QB, and the NCAA allowed him to play this year. In that case, the answer is yes.

Yea, holding one of, if not the best offenses in the country to 14 pts. probably gave you that impression.

14 points was about turnovers, TOP, massively overrated OU without it's best runner, and turnovers. The d was simply more than OU had seen, but that wasn't much of a standard.

Brantley is supposed to be an excellent QB in his own right.

It is possible that UT beats Florida with Tebow playing. It just isn't probable. While Tebow missing the game would likely increase the Vols chance of winning, there is also the possibility that Brantley tears up the Vols because they weren't prepared for his style of play (See LSU circa 2001).

I'll go with the poster above and just hope for a good close game.

I have a dream. In this dream, Montario Hardesty, David Oku and Bryce Brown are breaking long runs in the swamp just like Travis Stephens did back when. The Gators begin to stack the box to stop the run and the Crompton to Hancock and Warren connections start clicking. The Vols win by 10...

Then my wife shakes me out of my sleep and complains that I woke her up singing Rocky Top in my sleep...

You're the best team in the country, you don't have to make excuses before the season even starts. I know this is hard for UF fans.

Coincidence that Ole Miss pretty much handled the vaunted Texas Tech attack? :ermm:

Now I know why you are better at offering up snide quips instead of posting anything of substance about football.

Each team had 2 turnovers. The defense held Oklahoma to drives of 4,4,5,5,and 6 plays. That kept OU off the field longer and allowed UF to run the offense.

Go educate yourself by reading some college football publications and websites who all agree that Florida's defense is one of the best in college football. I'm sure it won't convince you because you refuse to give them credit because they are Florida.

I think the Florida defense got better over the season, and with all of the returning starters they should be very strong this year.

Isn't spikes hurt? No Turnovers......a couple of good bounces and a backbreaking kick return would do the trick.

Tennessee's defense matches up much better against uf's offense vs Tennessee's offense against uf's defense.

You are a football idiot. I watched the game. OU was awful for the night because they missed their best runner. Their offense was as overrated as any unit in the history of college football. They made a reputation playing in the worst defensive conference in the history of football and the bowl season proved it out.

You getting info from idiotic sports writers sounds par and I understand better why you know so little.

Remind of the football greats on OUs offense? Bradford maybe? Anyone else?

Wow, only 22 days till we play Florida. I Just can't imagine how pumped the players will be. Adrenaline at an all time high. You know that Lane, Monte and Coach "O" will fire them up before the game. Walking on to the field and seeing the Gator blue jerseys every where. Our orange & white jersey's really standing out amongst the crowd. We have to want to win more than do and we do.. Keeping the score close in the first half and making the half -time adjustments. They are surprised how well our team plays. We win by a field goal and beat the Gators. This is not a dream by the way.
