C'mon people we are one of the top 10 programs OF ALL TIME. Other schools have always had advantages in recruiting, But we have somehow managed to be more than competitive. Sometimes dominating for a decade or more at a time. We are down right now, But our time will come again. We are not Vandy. We are not Kentucky. Hell we are not Auburn or UGA either. Those schools ( though esteemed in their own right)do not touch our tradition. We are not the dregs of the NCAA. We are not the mediocre also rans of the middle tier. The Colorodos and Oregons and Ok states of the college football world. We are college football royalty. Lets give the inferiority complex a swift kick in the nads. If we believe we belong at the top it makes our coaches job of selling Tennessee easier. We all of us are THE TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS.

Im proud of our winning tradition but I could really care less about what happened years and years ago. Just my two cents

Why? How old are you? I'm not meaning to put anyone young down. I'm just saying the older you get, The more years you follow the team. The more what we have accomplished will mean to you. Studying our history will show that we have been down before and risen back up. We won the freakin NC 12 seasons ago, and have been in the hunt for a couple more since. The older I get the deeper my perception gets. We will be on top again.

I know and I agree. As long as former Volunteer players and alumni continue to come back and reinforce the Tennessee spirit, the Volunteer determination will impose itself on whatever schools are in the SEC.

:clapping: Heck yeah!!!! We need one of these per day! Im sick of the sky is fallin crap! I wasnt sure about DD at first but now im excited!!! But even if we have a bad year you people, ALL VOL FANS, need to step UP!!!!! I have become a more passionate fan since 08. I have bought more orange stuff, worn more vols stuff, put more on my car, etc. Cause all this is BS, we will be back!! As I said in some of my other posts yall need to be proud, start arguments, say your right when you know your wrong, win or lose were still UT!!!!
Especially to the gayter and gaytide fans!!!!!!!!
I learned this art from my loser memphis fans!!!!!

It happens to all teams eventually (ex. Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami, etc.). No one can stay on top forever. All top-tier teams have their ebbs and flows. I do hate to see it happen to my beloved Vols, but we will bounce back...the sooner the better. We have too much tradition, too big a fan base and our facilities are too great to be "down" for long. GBO!!!

We'll be on top again. It won't be this year, but we'll be back. I'm looking forward to it.

Don't get me wrong. I'm excited about this fall and anxious to see how well Dooley and Co. coach. I'm also anxious to get year 1 under his belt so he can continue to build.

Guys I can`t wait for this fall. I`m a Big Orange fan every day of the year. Football season is the best, we may get our butts kicked some this year still I`ll watch every game.

As an old coach once said " football is not a math test you don`t add up who has the most talent, the best coach, biggest fan base and highest ranking to determine the winner you PLAY THE GAME!!!"

Our history and tradition drive our success or failure. If some of our pimply faced fans don't believe it now, they eventually will. Our tradition demands that we have to field a product of excellence. When we don't meet those demands, all hell breaks loose and we do things that shoot us to the top again. Every program has its down years, but the ones with great tradition don't stay there long. This year we have some talented players and at the same time some big holes to fill. I really believe those hole will be filled soon and we will start our march to the top again.

The fact that we had a team in our history never get scored upon is great, and I'm proud of it, but it won't, in any way, shape, or form, help our team compete against the tier you're putting us in.

The team that wasn't scored on was for the regular season, they went to the rose bowl and lost.

It is great to see that the fan base is starting to get the right attiude. It doesnt matter when or how we are TENNESSEE and we are going to rebuild.
