No explanation was given by TNT, which released a statement saying: “Bill Weber will not be part of TNT’s NASCAR coverage of the Cup Series from New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend. As this is a private issue, it’s the policy of the company not to discuss personal matters involving our employees.”
The statement did not specify if the change was for only this race. The cable network, which broadcasts six Cup races each season, has only the events the next two weeks at Daytona and Chicago remaining in 2009.<

He did something wrong...............:eek:hmy:

canned, suspended- same difference...

"According to the Charlotte Observer, Weber was involved in a loud, public confrontation at a hotel in Manchester, N.H., over the weekend that led to the one-race suspension by the network."

translation: he was drunk and showed his ass.

I have to say he was one of my least favorite broadcasters. Him and DR Jerry Punch. It was nice not hearing his voice yesterday.

TNT just flat-out sucks. Their race coverage is miserable.

:good!:
Did you hear Kyle Petty say that after Truex went back and looked at the replay he might change his mind???
I didn't, I still saw Kyle Busch run all over his a$$.

Unfortunately I'm guessing its just for one race. I wouldn't mind if they got rid of both Weber AND Wally. I hate both of them. And I don't mind Kyle, but I sure miss Benny!

There's not really 1 thing that stands out. I would just rather have someone else in the booth. He just doesn't bring that "racers" point of view. I'm glad he was there to save Rusty's life and all back in the day though.... (It's probably more the fact that I prefer Fox over the other networks)

Yeah, after reading it that's what I got out of it also. Too bad it's not for good. Although they only have 3 more races this year.

Ralph Sheheen >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bill Weber

Although I can't decide if Sheheen is actually good or if it was just great not to listen to Weber yesterday. Either way, Kyle Petty was unfortunately still there.

TNT crew just sucks, it seems like the guys in the booth make noises when they see something than actually tell you what's happening.

different strokes for different folks. Too often when you get former competitors doing color commentary, you get a biased not fully informed view of what's going on. In racing you have DW doing that. Baseball has Joe Morgan and football has theirs. I just don't believe that because you were a professional in the sport makes you good at doing commentary for the sport.

I liked Ralph Shaheen, to me he's a heck of a lot better than webber. Kyle and Wally are so-so. My favorite commentators are Bob Varsha and Mike Joy, they're true car guys and have a lot of knowledge and a real appreciation for racing history.

I always liked Bob Jenkins calling Nascar races the last time they were with ESPN.
