'21 TN WR Walker Merrill (Tennessee signee)

Granzow also thrived with the return of Walker Merrill, who missed Week 2's 34-13 loss to Brentwood Academy because of injury. The senior QB scattered the receptions among seven different receivers but kept finding his two favorites for big plays. Aaron Walton caught seven passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns, while the University of Tennessee commitment Merrill snagged nine throws for 137 yards and two scores.

But what impressed coach Crawford the most about Merrill’s night was his blocking. “The best thing about Walker Merrill is watching him block," Crawford said. "He made a great block that sprung Aaron Walton. It’s those little things, unselfish things, he does that makes him special.”

Really sounds like we got a good one here.

Indeed...for some reason that quote about blocking made me think of Cedric Wilson...not only was he an excellent WR for all of the standard reasons he also gave every ounce he had at blocking too
I read that while Wilson was at UT, that the players called him Pycho Ced and would trick the freshman DBs into lining up against Wilson in blocking drills. All the veterans would crack up laughing after Ced would destroy 'em

Wasn’t he a linebacker in highschool, as well as a WR?

Merrill caught 15 passes for 201 yards — both career highs — and a touchdown Friday night in Brentwood's 49-7 win over Centennial High School of Franklin, Tenn. The Bruins will play host to Nashville's Cane Ridge High School on Friday night in the first round of Tennessee's Class 6A playoffs.
