Ehh we're pretty deep at WR. I say go big in '28, and somehow keep Smith/RaRa/Dodson. Which shouldn't be hard considering one of, if not both, MM/Staley will go pro. My money is MM going bonkers this year(1200 yards) and going rd2 in the draft.

They are saying not every site has him ranked #1 WR.

The difference is OSU hypes up Chris Henry Jr and cant wait for him to make an impact. They beat their chest about how hes the best. We have fans who downplay TK Keys.

Which is awfully weird…but the composite is literally the aggregate ranking from the main 3 services. Kind of hard to downplay that lol

He’s great. And had he not been hurt, he’s probably consensus #1. But I’m not taking a “stance.” I’m stating a fact…if 2 of 3 services did not rank him #1, he’s not “consensus” #1. By definition. The 247 composite has nothing to do with this.

What’s odd is that we’re still discussing this because you think that “consensus” means something other than “majority.”

Disagree. This offense tends to favor the slot and there is a legit established option there with Staley. But, I agree with the point you are making overall. He's the most talented guy in the room fs.

I think the 2024 recruiting class is giving a lot of people unrealistic expectations of how quickly five-star outside receivers make an huge impact. They have to refine their games and learn how to process coverages. If you go back one class to 2023, Carnell Tate had under 300 yards as a freshman. I know it's OSU, but they were looking for a second outside receiver that season. Had MHJ and Egbuka, but that other outside spot ended up being a platoon of three players, including Tate.

I think that’s exactly how it’s shaping up this year for Keys. Nobody is supplanting Mathews or Staley, but Rad, Travis, and TK can all play. I think anyone expecting him to go over 500 yards this year will be disappointed.

RJ has some of the better hands of our WR group and is a very good athlete. Keys will get plenty of targets I’m sure even if it’s in the 2nd half of games like Furman and Kennesaw st at first.

It’s a good year for a true rotation. Unless Rad or TK or whomever wins that spot going away.

I’d like to see Smith get an earnest chance too. I feel with crisper routes and an extra half step of separation (Owings) he could succeed.

Well... Mike Matthews made the Feldman Freaks list this morning with a 1.43 10-yard split. For context, the two best combine 10-yard splits since it started being track in the 40: 1) Chris Johnson (1.40), 2) Henry Ruggs III (1.43)
