Tn vs NC state game...

Thought Volnation would find this entertaining. I live near Raleigh, Nc have for 2 years now. State fans in this area are very confident coming into this game they do not fear us. Actually they think we should be fearing them. Anytime I engage in a convo with a state fan they always say Tn who? we are no longer feared in the football world. We need to make a national showing this game. Go vols!

Last year every Montana fan.. as in all 200... fully believed we would lose that game.

It is what it is..

I for one expect this game to play out similar to the Cincy game.

They will be a little overated, we will be a little underated; and it will show.

That's what Tennessee has become, just a hard reality. Until Tennessee returns to destroying teams with a lethal air assault and a bruising run game, and a defense that will rip the heads off any opposing offense, what's to fear? Just how I see it anyways.

We suck right now. All we can do is prove them wrong. Whether we do it or not is a different story, but the solution is simple. Just Win Baby!!!

Creedmoor is a nice little town....Tom O'Brien has helped NCSU gain respectability after Amato years. Beating UNC so often makes them feel they can beat anybody..

This game could turn out similar to cal 06. Both coming off 5 win seasons with a junior qb and good receivers

I have a friend that has season tickets to NCSU and he tells me that they are just not that good nationally better than average in their conference but will not match up with SEC teams.

The only way we will lose or this game will be close is if we come out unprepared, which unfortunately, that's likely to happen the first game of the year, so Dooley knows that and I think UT will open up a can of Tennessee whoop-A$$.... we're the better team talent and coaching wise, we'll prove it on the field.

I was simply responding to a poster who said NC State sucks......and they don't, plain and simple. I think we win, but they're not a terrible team.

i think it will be a great game! i do believe that tenn will win ,But who am i to say, they still got to play the game! OBO!!!

Exactly, we are only in year 3 of rebuilding, essentially from scratch. we have some good solid pieces but the puzzle is not complete yet. Still, we will beat them by 21 or more. Hoping for an improved run game but Bray's passing will open up the run game, despite their good secondary.

NC State fans are saying Tennessee who????? Any NC State fan who says that is full retard. What the hell as NC State ever done???? We're even better than them in basketball.....what a joke.

Tom Obrien has coached at State since 2007, Dooley at UT since 2010. Since 2007 Obrien has brought in:

4*s- 14
5*s- 1

Since 2010 Dooley has brought in:

4*s- 33
5*s- 1

I know on a player to player basis stars are not everything. But but when your stars heavily outweigh another teams, you should consistently have a better team. This SHOULD be a beat down. A loss should not even creep into the mind of a Tennessee fan IMO. Plus, State seems to have slow starts to their seasons under Obrien while finishing strong.

As for the * ratings, I got them from Rivals. I know we've had some guys (Couch, Patterson) who were 5* on other sites. But we also had 4*s that were 3s on other sites too. Just went with one site to keep it consistent.

Hey RichRollin,
Nice to see your logical well-thout out posts on VN! I just had to quit reading through the garbage posts on GVXtra.

I know stats are just stats, and stars "mean nothing on the field", but seeing the # of talented players being brought in does show that this staff is definitely upgrading our player talent level top to bottom. I really hope this is the season that it shows on the field.

Please start posting more in the recruiting section too. Thanks :clap:
