Okay they lost their QB on offense we lost our QB(s) of the defense. Are we even or what do you think? I don't wanna hear their fans crying if we win because they didn't have their QB, and I don't wanna hear our fans saying "only if we had Sutton" if in 4 cycles of recruiting you can't have someone ready to step in and play half way decent than we've got bigger problems..... Opinions?

I'm sure if we lose, Butch will be extremely quick to remind us that we had injured players and freshmen who played, ignoring the fact that UF would have just won with a backup QB and playing more freshmen than us.

Question...is this the first pocket passer UT faces this year? Does that matter? Think about it, App St, triple option. VA Tech Run Option. Ohio kids still had legs, he was a big 6-3 240 type of guy. Does a pocket passer with a lot of interceptions on his resume help this D-LIne being down Kirkland Jr and possible JRM?

I think it does make a difference. Our defensive ends are at their best pass rushing against a 5-7 step drop back, which is what we should be seeing from Appleby. Barnett especially has been one of the few consistent bright spots for the team, and the UF offense is tailor made for him. My concern is whether our offense can stay on the field and put up enough points to give the D some breathing room.

As far as injuries go we are nowhere close to even. We are missing much more than they are. LDR is a first year starter so he doesnt really count as losing much as far as experience goes.

Having said that, there can be no excuses used either way. Their fans will cry and use excuses if they lose. Our fans will do the same thing. Its just a fact.

It's amazing Barnett doesn't have more sacks, at BoB he was so quick in the backfield a lot. Aside from injury will they suspend that offense lineman who was ejected for throwing a punch? I hope Martin and Foreman are back in the backfield with Buchanon. Moseley scares me. The one upside to this year that UF fans have gotten wrong is that UT blows second half in games. Both sides of the ball UT has played it best ball second half. Having said all that I purchased tickets to go with a police officer buddy(a gator fan) to my first UT game at the age of 31. Wish me luck. :rock:

Running was already the strength of their team. Their passing kept defenses honest, and their play action burned secondaries when safeties cheated downhill to help against the run.

If Spurrier was coaching, their first two plays from scrimmage would be play action passes. But I don't think McElwain will feel the need to. He would rather exploit our injuries at linebacker than corner. Logic says McElwain will come in here attempting to out-Neyland Neyland. He'll run the ball and play to his team's strengths--defense and the kicking game... ball control and field position.
