Bama fans complaining we overpaid to flip him, but I didn’t even think we offered what bama offered. Perhaps his bama commitment was a play to try and get more money, I don’t think we really flinched. We have our major money tied up in other areas, it’s just funny fans can’t understand he is just more comfortable here. It’s nice to get a recruit cheaper just because we have a staff that can build relationships.

I still don't get how he could pick Bama in the first place. Of all places as a Vol to pick! Glad he came back to his senses, but man...growing up orange hating bama...the crimson must've felt too wrong on him
As UTK indicated, it coulda been about money manuvering ...

Or, it coulda just been punking Bama. 😆

Hopefully that’s the case with Chandler too

I don’t know why ANY fan for any team thinks they have any real clue what any player is getting paid. They don’t.

could be another Brame situation. IIRC Oregon paid him twice as much as we were willing to, and he later follows his heart to commit to UT.

Tennessee commit Kenneth Simon's details official visit and right choice

It’s been over a week since Kenneth Simon flipped his commitment from Alabama to Tennessee. He was in town for his official visit this weekend and still feels like it was the right decision.

“Just getting to come back home and see everyone I have known for a while. Then to get to reconnect with the coaching staff. This weekend made it even more clear. I’m at peace with my decision. This week was good,” Simon said.

Simon was able to spend time with longtime buddy and Vol commitment J.P. Peace. The two were teammates on the baseball diamond in youth ball. For a couple of seasons, Tennessee Hall of Fame head coach Phillip Fulmer was there coach. The two always talked about being Vols when they got older. Today it’s a reality. Both were in town for their official visits which made the weekend for Simon.

“Being on a visit with JP was something special. It’s’ something we have talked about since we were young. It was a highlight from the weekend.”

Simon put on the Tennessee uniform for the first time during his photo shoot on Saturday night. Simon, who’s father Kevin, played at Tennessee and was on staff at one point at Tennessee, grew up in orange and admitted putting on a Vol jersey for the first time was a bit overwhelming.

“I looked at myself in the mirror and just smiled. It was a surreal moment. It’s something I have dreamed of since I was a kid. It’s reality now,” Simon explained.
