'26 TN S Joel Wyatt (Tennessee)

Great point. That dude was rock solid at STAR.

McMurray has been pretty good there too. That position is so versatile. You can have a 5’9 180 lbs CB or a 6’3” 215 lbs safety type playing in that position.

Redmond came in pretty advanced and he still took his lumps. He’s not a headcase like Boo so he should be dependable or even one of the better defenders next season. But hopefully Poteat is ready to take a step up. Was very excited about him. Or I forgot about Merrit. Both of those guys can be like Staley was this season except on defense hopefully.

We have some talent. It’s just really badly synced up with the lack of portal guys and the freshman + injured veterans
The thing about having Harrison at Star is, it would’ve allowed McMurray to stay at outside CB, where he played last year. Then you don’t have to start a true freshman there.

Joel Wyatt and Craig Tutt are both
Mr. Football Semi-Finalists

Wyatt has 70 tackles 2 INTs and 2 Forced Fumbles
400 yards receiving and 6 TDs

If Oakland gets past Blackman again.
I think they will run into Memphis Southwind.
And talk about athletic players all over the field. Wyatt will need to be on his game a safety if they play Southwind.

I’m starting to get very interested in this kid’s development at safety. Once he gets into our strength and conditioning program he’ll make huge strides in quickness. Combay seems like the more natural football player to me, but Wyatt is learning. He’s not just a camp star, stop watch champion. He’s a physical defender.

Still wish we let go of some other DBs we have and go after Tutt.

LSU is circling back here and he had a lot of love for LSU early in his process. Not sure what will come of it but he's having dialogue with the new Tigers staff and there is some real conversation going on about potentially slowing the process down.

Doesn’t sound like he will sign in the next couple of days… Leaves wiggle room here for somebody else which is obviously not ideal… But it’s recruiting so things are subject to change

If we don’t sign Wyatt…. That will be 6 straight recruiting classes JH/Banks have not signed a 4 star safety. Boo was an athlete before you ask and played star for us.

Also, LSU/Lane are about to become so annoying

It’s past time for Banks to go…he’s the worst recruiter on staff by a mile. We have two 4 star safeties in our own state this year and are likely going to sign neither when it’s our biggest position of need.

This cycle he is the primary recruiter for Luke Thompson and KJ McClain…that’s it.

Also lost out on Shady Hayward last year.

The recruiting and development at that position has been awful. You can’t be 5 years in and your best player at the position was a walk-on.

Massive news!!! Still stand by my Banks post.

He’s dead weight on the recruiting trail.
He doesn’t want to recruit. Brought in an analyst to help coach safeties so he didn’t have to coach a unit. But got a raise to 2.15 million to call the ninety something Defense in the nation. Good riddance.

We desperately need a DC with some fire! I want to see a guy chest bumping players on the sideline after big stops not sitting lifeless in the press box.

Banks has the personality of a brick wall. Probably why you hear almost no players or recruits mention him in interviews.
