I remember when we hated ole miss not just ole kiffster . I don't speak for all kids in the 80s from West Tennessee, but the proximity of ole miss to us in Jackson , I hated ole miss as much as bama when I was 6 . My first vol game that I can remember was ole miss in Memphis. Nothing to do with Mr. Tutt. I miss Auburn as well.

It’s even worse in Memphis. I do not like Ole Miss, I did have buddies who attended and threw parties there. I did enjoy my time with a few coeds while attending said parties. And maybe took a few trips to link back up with said coeds. But still, I hate Ole Miss for sporting purposes.

I never hated Ole Miss but that's probably because they were my Dad's favorite team and most of his side of the family is from north central Mississippi. I also graduated high school about 45 minutes from Oxford and a lot of my friends went to Ole Miss. I'm originally from Memphis and that game at the Liberty Bowl was my first live Vols game, as well. I think I was about 16, though. Possibly the best part of that whole game was that I lived so close to Oxford, so I was able to do a little taunting to Rebels fans all the way back down I55 to the Oxford exit. 😂

It was said on here that Tennessee wanted Combay over Tutt.

I think we need both.

I would have prioritized Tutt over Thompson or McClain.

Thompson goes head 2 head with Tutt in game 1 this season iirc.
