Wars, genocide, reparations, religion, eggs, covid, etc (split from recruiting forum)

Correct. I really don't care either way. I just like to make fun of them.
I have my opinions; but, the day I start worshipping or obsessing over any of them, is the day I revert back to a flip phone and unplug the television. I stand for what I believe in, and have chirped in a time or two here; but, back and forth about it on SM or a message board is about as futile as pouring water over the side of the Titanic with a thimble.

On my list. I just finished The Wheel of Time, I’ve heard some mixed reviews, but having not read any of the books thoroughly enjoyed the show.
That show is a woke abomination...if you like it just know it is NOT anywhere even near the same story, and the characters are absolutely butchered even worse, so don't even bother reading the real AWESOME story.

As someone that's read the series, what specifically do you mean by woke abomination?

I will likely read the series. I normally find if a book/series exist I'm less likely to hate the show/movie if I start there and then read it.

Valuing modern sensibilities and politics over the source material like a million other failed projects over the last decade or so.

Its being an abomination has nothing to do with wokeness. It has everything to do with arrogant hollywood fundamentally changing characters, themes, and major arcs because they think they can improve upon one of the most successful, best-selling stories of all time.

Wokeness has EVERYTHING to do with it...very disingenous of you. The changes are, like everything Hollywood does now, just pure Woke agenda driven garbage.

Specifically?..the very nature of the One Power is changed to fit the LGBTQ- crap lunatic ideas about gender...that's one thing.

Another thing is that the books are incredibly diverse in their own right and for very good reasons...but Emonds Field is absolutely NOT diverse or black, brown or anything else and it doesn't have anything to do with racial supremacy...The pure unmixed blood of the Emonds Fielders going back to the AWESOMEA ancient kingdom of Manetheren, which it was a part of before it was ever called Emonds Field...as a matter of fact it is called Emonds Field because...

Emond's Field in The Wheel of Time is named as a corruption of "Aemon's Field," honoring King Aemon of Manetheren, who died there during the Trolloc Wars. Over 2,000 years, the pronunciation evolved from Aemon's Field to Emond's Field due to the regional, isolated nature of the Two Rivers folk forgetting their history.
Historical Origin: It was the site of the final stand and death of King Aemon of Manetheren.
Linguistic Evolution: The name shifted from Aemon's Field to a mispronounced "Emond's Field" (sometimes confused with "Edmond's") over millennia.
Significance: It serves as a testament to the village's forgotten, heroic, and independent heritage.

The Power runs so strong in Emonds Field precisely BECAUSE of their isolation from the rest of the world..that's why so many of the people from Emonds Field...not just the original Big Six that left with Moiraine are among the most powerful and talented channelers in the world.

And many other things...you would have to read the series to understand...I hate "the agenda" and I am absolutely sick of it.

And one thing that absolutely infuriated me didn't have anything to do with "the agenda"...it was how the idiotic writers absolutely destroyed one of the all-time greatest characters in fantasy fiction...Matrim Cauthon. And by the way his father was not a drunk scumbag...he is one of the best strongest men in Emonds Field...which I guess does have something to do with "the agenda" because you can't have awesome strong patriarchal men in modern storytelling....men are for tearing down to nothing and deconstructing...not making pure heroes out of...that's why they destroyed Mats father.

Oh man...makes me wanna read the series even more now knowing so many of the points in the series I thought seemed lazily written were in fact lazily written lol

I knew the show would be a step down from the series, GoT has taught me that...but the show at least got me interested in starting the series so at least that job was done.

Glad I never watched it. I've heard from several fans of Robert Jordan how terrible the TV series is.

What did you think of Brandon Sanderson's work closing out the WOT series. I almost didn't finish the series. I was so turned off by the abomination Brian Herbert & Kevin J. Anderson committed defiling Frank Herbert's works that I almost didn't finish the WOT series. I was too afraid of reading another atrocity. Thankfully my father recommended I finish WOT.

"Half the light of the world"...... I never figured it out before the book revealed it, either. Such an amazing payout.

And many other things...you would have to read the series to understand...I hate "the agenda" and I am absolutely sick of it.
The new Dune movies were doing so good until the 2nd half of the 2nd movie..... The 3rd is almost certainly gonna be unwatchable garbage for fans of the books.
