'27 TN RB David Georges

Never seen David run the way he did tonight. That brother was running ANGRY. Took every bit of that to win that game. Baylor needs to clean some things up badly but this was the kind of game that they lost last year in the state championship game, so was impressive to see them pull out the victory this time

They weren't keyed before? Who had that scout? 😆
Oh they were haha. But Baylor tried to get cute and ended up only attacking vertically after that Theodore catch. Rabun Gap started loading the box for the run and Baylor wouldn't use the middle of the field to make them pay for it. Mainly bc that OL was getting COOKED in the second half. Osenda looked fine tho on initial watch. Baylor played an incredibly sloppy second half but managed to take advantage of costly Rabun Gap mistakes at the end to sneak out with the victory

Rabun Gap was also a Top 100 Team and controlled most of the game last week against #4 ranked Grayson, until costly mistakes.

They probably won't play a better team the rest of the season.

IDK, McCallie is looking faster this year, so we'll see. But I don't know if Baylor needs to clean up too much, they were just playing a really good team

It's common knowledge that Peyton Manning hates Josh Heupel and his system.
I can promise you Peyton hates his system. He will never say it to him, and he shouldn’t, but the idea of running an offense where the QB isn’t in the huddle and doesn’t check all the protections and pre snap reads and just lines up as fast as possible and counts the box real fast as his read and is either throwing quick screens/hitches or flat routes to TEs or wide open deep balls down the sidelines most of the time and doesn’t have actual progressions for the QB to go through or any real play action passing is insulting to a guy like Peyton.

Don’t get me wrong I think Heupel’s offense was exactly what we needed when he got here and he’s a brilliant offensive mind that has reinvented himself a few times as a play caller. We’re getting talent now that is capable of running a modern pro style offense though that doesn’t rely on light boxes to run the ball well or up tempo offenses to get guys open and to be honest the talent we’re getting needs a pro style offense to be their best. If we don’t line Tristen Keys up at all 3 spots on the field and have him running an entire NFL route tree then we’re not utilizing what makes him special. If JVD and Brame aren’t used more as in line blockers rather than H Backs we’re doing a disservice to them and the offense. QBs with live legs that can hit open deep balls and throw quick screens are a dime a dozen for the most part nowadays. Faizon Brandon, and even George MacIntyre for that matter are so much more than that. We need to let them utilize their arm talent more than just on deep balls. Let them make actual NFL throws. Line Peyton Lewis up behind the QB in a pistol set with Brame at the Y and JVD at the H or vice versa and let him run a stretch or power play. Then go play action and let the QB turn his back so the safety has to bite so Mike and Legend Bey can take the top off the defense on a deep post or we can hit one of those 2 TEs on a wheel.

We still have a long way to go with development, but we’re constructing an offensive roster that really reminds me of some of the best offenses in the last 20 years, and by best offenses I mean offenses that won national championships that were full of future all pro/pro bowl players. Keys has the ability to be a Justin Jefferson type of receiver and Moa reminds me a lot of DeAndre Hopkins. I also think Radarious Jackson and Daune Morris have the potential to be some of the best that ever played their positions here and Legend Bey is just a crazy talent, and could be a Randall Cobb type guy for us. Those guys right there can win us a national championship if Heupel can adapt the offense. I think it’s coming though. Bringing Littrell and Landry Jones in is an audition/interview for them in my opinion if we don’t see improvement this year under Halzle. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Littrell is our OC in a year or two

They need to clean up the OL play and some busts in coverage/special teams but mainly OL play. I agree Rabun Gap was probably best team they will play all year and are top two without a doubt at the very least. If Baylor wants to play up to their potential, OL play has to improve from second half performance

You literally just described how we use pre snap reads (counting the box, which I seriously doubt we do. It’s far faster to count safeties) while claiming Manning doesn’t like our lack of pre snap reads

and is either throwing quick screens/hitches or flat routes to TEs or wide open deep balls down the sidelines most of the time and doesn’t have actual progressions for the QB to go through or any real play action passing is insulting to a guy like Peyton.

We are an incredibly heavy play action team

Line Peyton Lewis up behind the QB in a pistol set with Brame at the Y and JVD at the H or vice versa and let him run a stretch or power play.

Power is our main running play

Then go play action and let the QB turn his back so the safety has to bite so Mike and Legend Bey can take the top off the defense on a deep post or we can hit one of those 2 TEs on a wheel.

Safeties don’t have to bite simply because your QB turned his back and our play action has been very effective.

There’s too much stupid in this to address all of it. But I tried.

This dude ran like he was the wedge buster all game.

No such thing as a must get. And I know he has things he needs to work on, but geez you can’t deny his competitive make up.

And he’s fast.
