'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

Absolutely right about not many top QBs coming out of TN. Good thing they come out of a lot of other places...like Ga and Tx.
Who are some of the Tennessee high school QBs who, in the last 30 years have left the State and become starts at other D 5 type universities?

Couple two or three, that i can think of right off the top of my head. Pennington...the kid that went to Iowa...maybe one or two others.

From Tiger Illustrated

Simpson (6-2, 190), ranked No. 32 nationally by Rivals.com, is the one we’ve circled as arguably more in the more immediate crosshairs.

The son of UT Martin coach Jason Simpson, he has visited Clemson already several times, and we have referenced the program culture resonating with the football family.

We also reported that Simpson began speaking directly with Dabo Swinney last month, and communication has continued on a weekly basis.

To quote ourselves, there’s your sign as far as the Tigers rounding third base and attempting to reach home.

Simpson has backed off thought of making a decision this fall, with an eye on advancing the recruitment once his junior season has concluded and visits are again allowed.

Clemson, Tennessee and Auburn are the three suitors in the heat of the battle, with Alabama and LSU stated contenders as well.

We’ve gathered conflicting intel on whether Tennessee or Auburn constitutes the greatest threat. But we have consensus that Clemson is in the top two.

Let’s just say here’s where the Tigers would really benefit from getting Simpson back on campus again to spend in-person time with Swinney and staff.

Who is the newer QB prospect putting up gaudy numbers in Alabama? Maybe they go that route if they miss out on Simpson?
