'22 TN QB Ty Simpson (Alabama commit)

I think that these statements highlight the flaws with recruiting rankings and why we shouldn't get caught up in them. Recruiting rankings are not as much of a science as a lot of people want them to be/make them out to be.

The services favors recruits who commit to schools with recents success. This makes sense to a certain extent, because players will be more successful and successful programs (on average)

They also generally drop kids who commit early so there are still high ranked uncommitted kids to drive hype and clicks to their sites.

It's important to remember how we value recruits before/when they commit and not change this based off of where their ratings go.

If recruits are worried about how their ranking will be effected so they change what school they commit to we don't want them. I don't see any recruit basing their commitment off of this.

Looking ahead to 2022 and potential signature piece in quarterback Ty Simpson. The Martin, Tn. junior wants to get through this season before making a decision. Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and Alabama are all after Simpson heavily but his relationships with Jim Chaney and Chris Weinke is big. He is very close with Weinke as those two have built a strong bond. At this point, we don’t believe Tennessee can be in any better position. They have done a really nice job the last several months.

6’2 185 hs junior QB, PC 225 for a triple is pretty solid. He’s got 250 in the tank, for at least a squat clean. That’s pretty solid given his size

Just read the thread on Clemson 247. Their fans are mad that this is their first ‘22 QB offer to go out and not Quinn Ewers out of Texas.

Clemson also offered Antoine Davis’ son, Braden Davis, today.
