TN Pro Day: Any info on results!?

There is no way LT and Briscoe are faster than Harvin.

You gotta remember that Harvin busted his ankle up somewhat in the NCG.

Also, people generally run faster on their Pro Days... something about not being entirely used to the way the track in Indy feels (apparently there is more "bounce") that's at least what commentators have said.

They may have since updated the surface in the indoor practice facility, but they used to talk about how fast UT's was. Although FieldTurf provides better footing, it's also slower.

40 times can be a bit misleading. While two players may end up close at the 40 yard line, one might be way more explosive at 20 yards which would be more important for football. Also it doesn't measure things like a players vision for angles and cuts, elusiveness, speed in and out of cuts, etc. These are all things that Harvin has in spades.

Good for Lucas Taylor. That was one guy that I truly felt sorry for because of how he had to end his career. Hopefully someone gives him a chance. Really good guy.

That and the homefield timer. Its electronic in Indy...at your pro day one of your coaches or trainers is clocking you with a stopwatch. Everyone runs faster at their pro day..hell there were rumours of deion running a 4.19 in high tops at free shoes U.

NFL scouts are the one's with the stopwatches at the UT pro days. No team is going to simply trust timing from a coach. Remember when Bobby Bowden claimed he had a handful of defensive ends who ran 4.4s yet could never replicate that during an official timing?

You are correct.

It is still started by hand....so human error is definitely a factor. And as was stated before, the times at pro days come from pro scouts....not University employees.

*Update*

Did a quick search because I was curious and Arian Foster supposedly ran a 4.69. If this is true, then everyone who said he was a slow RB was correct. I don't think that is slow for a back his size, but he danced around to much for how big he was.

I'm sure there is a perfectly logical explanation for that time.

you had to look up a 40 time to confirm that arian foster was slow?

Did you read how much Taylor's bench reps exploded in 7 weeks daaang!

2?!?! With Kiff around I would bet every person on the team will bench far more than that. It just goes to show what our S & C used to be... horrible. It also shows, IMO, why last years team got worse as the game progressed. Its sad that a guy can be on the team for 4 years (5?) and only be able to make 2 reps.

Taylor had a shoulder injury last season that didn't allow him to do upper-body workouts; that's why he could only do 2.
