The 6-foot-4, 335-pound Edwards said he didn’t grow up liking Tennessee despite having plenty of Vols fans around him in West Tennessee. But as a recruit, he said, he now likes the Vols because of the possibility of “staying in-state,” adding that Tennessee is “close to home, really.” “I really wasn’t a big fan coming up,” he said. “But now, as I’m older, I really like it.”
Edwards, a two-way lineman, said he enjoyed spending time with Tennessee coach Josh Heupel’s staff during Saturday’s junior day. He said he primarily talked with defensive line coach Rodney Garner. Edwards said he believes the Vols, like most teams that have extended early offers to him, are recruiting him as a possible defensive lineman...He admitted that he currently wants “to play defense” in college.
