“It’s pretty tight,” Gooch said on his relationship with the Tennessee coaching staff. “We talk at least three or four times a week. Coach Pruitt and I are continuing to build our relationship on a personal level. He’s straight forward.

“They are all honest. They don’t tell me what I want to hear, they tell me the truth.”

“I wanted my family to be close and to be able to come and watch me play,” Gooch concluded. “That’s one of the big reasons why I ended up choosing the Vols instead of Auburn or other programs. That and for my future education.”
