TN OL Chris Morris (Texas A&M commit - Now JUCO)

From 247:

Morris recently told BamaOnLine that Alabama was the No. 2 school in his recruitment. His No. 1 school? He doesn’t have one because that will be the school he opts for. I’ll let you work that out by default. The four-star offensive lineman from Tennessee plans to get back to Tuscaloosa more often now that his relationship has grown with the new staff, in particular new offensive line coach Kyle Flood. Also aiding the Tide’s efforts, Morris is the brother of UA linebacker Joshua McMillon.

From that video...he's talking about all the schools recruiting him and then he said..."Tennessee is outstanding and basically taking over my recruitment"...oooh sounds like a Vol to me
sounds like he's telling whoever is on the other line what they want to hear based on the Bama online stuff up top.......lol.

i'd rather you be right though. interview was good. need to definitely get him back on campus as much as possible.

Him, Tate, Cooper, Rodgers/Thomas(whichever 1 of them that don't play d-line in college) and a road grader OG. Great o-line class
Marcus Henderson would most likely be the other guard. That would probably be the best OL haul in the country back to back years. Probably could sign another and keep Thomas and Rogers both in the DL.

For the first time since January, 4-star offensive tackle Chris Morris will be back in town. It’s a key visit for the Memphis native, as Tennessee has moved back into Morris’ top group but still wants to see more from the Vols. Currently, UT is slated to host Morris three times before he makes his decision, as he’ll be here this weekend, attend and compete in camp in early June and then take an official visit sometime after that. If, and it’s still and if, but if Morris makes it Knoxville three times this summer, then Tennessee should seriously help themselves in landing the blue-chip lineman.

Feels like we have some ground to gain on a lot of Memphis kids but seem to be moving up. Honestly I want to close on kids like him and Thomas. We need talent and depth in the trenches badly.

On paper this is a big class between the OL and DL, both in our need and with the crop of players available.

I really want this kid, Omari Thomas, Cooper, and Tate. That's be one hell of an OL haul.

“Basically, he was just telling me where I would fit on the team and how much the o-line needs improvement,” Morris said.

“Coach Friend and I just chilled out. We watched a little film on myself and Trent Williams (Washington Redskins left tackle). We sat around and laughed some and ate.”

In addition to the coaches, Morris spent time with current Vol Trey Smith, who had a few words of advice for handling the recruiting process.

“Trey told me to keep my head screwed on and focus on the football stuff,” Morris said. “He told me there’s going to be plenty of distractions. He said just to keep having a passion for the game and that UT is the best spot.”

Morris and Smith have spoken before and Morris is a fan because of the way Smith handles things.

“He has a passion for the game,” Morris said. “He talked to me about him coming back for next season and stuff. Just how he has fought to get back to the game of football is impressive.”

Morris who recently visited Texas A&M and will see more schools in the coming weeks said the Vols remind up on his list.

“Basically, I wasn’t looking for anything different,” Morris said. “I was just coming back and hang out. I didn’t come and find anything new. Everything is improving on and off the field. I just wanted to come back and talk some.”

“Tennessee is pretty high. They have been on me since my freshman year.”

No decision timetable is set for Morris but when it comes times to make his college choice it will come down to three things.

“Family, football and connections, having relationships for life after football is important

It definitely didn't help KMac, but there were obviously other factors at play.

It basically guarantees a RS season for Morris IMO

True. It just sucks for them to miss that last year. KMac, Hurd and JG (I think) all missed either all or most of their SR year.

Agree on the RS. If he commits to us, he would almost definitely RS.
