I work at a TN sports store in Memphis and was talking with a recruits dad that said Eddie Gran called up and was coming to visit his son who is a kicker at Christian Brothers High School. His sons name was Corey Acosta I believe. He told me Corey told Gran he was concerned that we have the nations #1 kicker in the country coming in next year in Palardy, so would he play? Gran apparently told him that they want Palardy as a punter and Acosta as the kicker.

Not sure if this was already known, but was news to me. I remember hearing about Acosta at Christian Brothers. I've seen his videos on youtube a while back. If I'm not mistaken his long was a 63 yarder.

Acosta's dad also told me that Wilhoit was helping out on the staff in some capacity. From the understanding he has, the staff doesn't have much confidence in Cunningham, maybe not bought into the system? He's definately inconsistent.

Anyway thought it was interesting to share. Take it for what it's worth.

P.S.-Loving the fact that Spurrier can't predict TN anymore cuz he ain't lookin at Phil on our sidelines now!!! GO VOLS!!!:clapping:

I never said this was fact...I said it's what I had heard from his dad. As for his 63 yard kick...it wasn't in a game. If it's nonsense, simply don't read it. Not hard at all is it?

I was in shock when I heard Palardy might take punts also. Didn't say I believed it either tho. Only time will tell, not sure what reason this guy would have to lie to me in the first place. But I forgot that some ppl no more that others ever will and can't simply discuss a comment...which is all it was, just a comment. Thanks tho bud.

How about this for some "kicker news"...if we have to play a single game in overtime this year, we will lose.

Splain yo'self with more than just a "fail." Doesn't add a thing to the discussion.

We do need some more help...can't see us putting all three duties on one guy, and then when he pulls a muscle, we're left high and dry. Plus, I'm sure the staff will figure out who does what...after some competition in the spring and fall...no sense trying to dictate and rail other posters here, when we don't know exactly what the staff's intentions are.

Do I really need to respond to this?

Use your brain and scholarship math.
Uh...look at our record and then consider every loss was either totally due to a ST failure or ST played a major factor (against UF).
I'm as stoked as anyone about Palardy, but we need some depth there, considering how Lincoln's injury has screwed us hard this year.

You don't blow two schollys in one recruiting season on two kickers when you have two Jr kicker/punters on the roster who are already getting scholarships. Cunningham/Lincoln back up Palardy next year and then you get another guy NEXT year.

Geeze. I really didn't think this was that difficult to understand.

Would you rather spend a scholarship on a backup Kicker or on another OL?

I think thats a pretty easy question to answer. If you don't...well...then I think I understand why you struggle to understand my point.

He can be a preferred walk on, it's not that crazy to believe it can happen. He doesn't have an offer at this point.

It's pretty well known that Acosta is going to walk on then get a scholarship down the road. You sir are the fail.
