Simpson was set to be the top player in the state but that distinction now will belong to five-star Walter Nolen. Nolan who is originally from Olive Branch, Mississippi transferred to IMG Academy this off-season before returning back to the area and enrolling at Saint Benedict in Memphis. He is playing for former Vol Marlon Walls who also has former Vol Justin Hunter on the staff. Jeremy Pruitt and Company have done a very good job of putting themselves in the mix. LSU and Clemson are two other factors in white will be a recruitment that goes for a very long time.

Chad Simmons on who should be No. 1 in 2022..
The only real question around Nolen is where he will be playing football in the future. Not only college, but maybe even high school. He played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Olive Branch High in Mississippi, he transferred to IMG Academy in January. After going back home due to the pandemic, he has decided to stay close to his roots and play for St. Benedict High just outside of Memphis. Regardless of where he plays, he is a dominant force on the defensive line. He is a very athletic, twitchy lineman that checks all the boxes up front. He is explosive, disruptive and a force against the run and the pass. Nolen is one Rivals.com has been very high on since his freshman year and he has continued to develop, improve and show why he is a five-star talent. Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee and others are in pursuit early.

Walter Nolen is an absolute monster at defensive tackle and a guy who can be an elite pass rusher from the position. We rarely talk about change of direction for a lineman, but his ability to pursue and track the ball while changing direction like a smaller prospect is amazing.

The fire on Pruitt just got turned up to 10 and he didn’t even do anything.

Absolutely can’t let this one get outta state.
