Saw him tonight. Still very light but he looked great. Closed on tackles fast, took a punt to the house (made something out of nothing), and had a pick on the last play. Probably will have to get bigger but he’ll end up being a good pickup for someone

Ensworth standout Justin Hopkinswill be a name Tennessee is hot after in this cycle. The 6-foot-0, 160-pound cover-corner is long, quick and athletic on the perimeter. He was high school teammates with ’25 signee Ethan Utley and is considered the fourth-highest prospect from the state of Tennessee. On3 sports Hopkins as a top-100 player at No. 81 and the ninth-best corner in the class. Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Indiana are also in play.

Justin Hopkins released his top schools this week and the Vols are firmly entrenched in this recruitment. He is comfortable around the staff and close with multiple players on the current roster. He looks up to Ron Slay as “an uncle” and hears frequently about the Vols.

He plans to visit again in the winter and decide in the summer. Miami, Michigan, and Nebraska are several programs to enter the picture in recent months. He wants to explore all options, but it feels like the Vols are positioned well in this one early on.
