Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Missing meetings and showing up late happens at every team. What I can’t figure out is why our players are letting this stuff out to media members.

Should be handled internally
He’s causing his teammates to do extra running because he doesn’t want to show up. It’s selfish at the end of the day.

I’d be pissed too if I were them. This has probably been going on for a long time before we even heard about it. Who’s to say Boo won’t quit on his teammates mid season if he doesn’t get his way?

The lack of any playmakers on offense on this team is mind numbing. Kid wants to go, let him go. But my goodness, going Winter, Spring, and now struggling to get offensive playmakers. Sorry not sorry, is a red flag on those offensive coaches. Huep is the man, but ... it is frustrating.

Maybe they can work it out with him, who
knows?
Most of these kids haven’t played. Too soon to say we have no playmakers. We beat out very good schools for most of these recruits.

AP said as far as he knows Boo can’t just transfer to another school at this point. So he’s just going to sit out a year? Doesn’t seem very smart on his part
Could he leave and walk on at another school? The term "walk-on" has basically lost meaning because you can use NIL money to supplement. I am not sure that is legal, but who knows what is legal these days.

None of those three takes is a fact. Geez man
Hubbs has said multiple times over the past month that he does not expect Thomas to play this year. The last update he provided was that he was likely to medically redshirt this year. He is not playing. They also mentioned that they don't expect McCoy to start the season either. We all know what has been posted about Boo Carter lately so I will save writing anything about it.

Where is Boo going to go at this point? He can’t transfer now and if he’s playing this fall it’s going to be at UT. Unless it’s so bad that he transfers down divisions, which I doubt happens.

Best case scenario with Boo IMO is get one more year out of him with hopefully little distraction. At the end of the year let him do whatever he wants, no more money, and no concessions to keep him.

You run the risk of it all blowing up in the middle of the year and affecting the team this year though.

Happy Wednesday

July 23,2025: Do not be selfish or only considering yourself in making decisions or in acquisitions. You will have opportunities to make life-altering choices, but if you only consider the outcome for yourself instead of all concerned, the outcome will be less favorable. You must seek the Lord for wisdom and direction. Proverbs 11:24 There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.
