In-state, in 2026 the Vols are off to a nice start. They have had safety Craig Tutt, standout athlete Joel Wyatt, and offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda on campus multiple times over the last two months. They continue to impress with each one and are positioned well here as the fall rolls on.
Wyatt has been on campus for three straight games, and we believe the fit with the Vols and the four-star athlete continues to make a lot of sense. Determining which side of the ball he plays on will be a key question for all college coaches, but the relationships on Rocky Top have the Vols sitting in a nice spot currently.

I donā€™t usually put a lot of stock in what Lemming thinks, but if those measurables are accurate, this dude is a stud. Especially if itā€™s true that he has great hands. Sign him up. We need playmaking receivers.

Yes, but we need them now, not in 3 seasons.

I think thatā€™s most likely.

Could be a jumbo S.

Heā€™s a special athlete. Not saying impossible he plays WR but guess he plays elsewhere.
Iā€™d almost rather see him as an elite safety. That sounds weird to say, given how important the Edge position is, but weā€™ve recruited it and developed it so well, compared to the safety position. I know weā€™ll have good players at Edge. Safety has been a bigger concern.

Remember we can always move a CB to safety and get some good production out of that.

Charles is having more success at safety.
Slaughter for Arkansas is having more success at NB than CB

Redmond, Heyward, and the Bama kid are all up at safety from the 2025 class.
Still have Jon Slaughter, Turrentine, both Thomasā€™s for the 2025 season as vets.

That deeper than we are currently if you think about it. Then we bring in Tutt and another guy in 2026.

In regards to EDGE position we should be good there, but weā€™ve only seen Pearce and Bryon Young actually shine there. Still need Joseph has showed up against the run but still need him to get after the QB better. Ross and Herrring just need to be more on the field more.

But I see an absolute freak at EDGE with Webb.

His arms is skinny like Bradley. He would have a long ways to go before heā€™s ready for significant snaps at edge.

WR Joel Wyatt

Tennessee signed two in-state wideouts in the ā€™25 cycle and already has one commitment from King in this class. Joel Wyatt could be another Tennessee native to join the class if the Vols win out in the end. So far, so good.

ā€œTennessee is on top of my list and I am feeling good about them,ā€ Wyatt told On3 in November. ā€œI was there for the Kentucky game and it was amazing. They are pushing very hard for me and they are making me feel great.ā€

Wyatt of The Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tenn. is a top-100 player in the cycle. On3 ranks him at No. 35 overall and the third-best prosect at his position. He stands in at 6-foot-4 and weighs 185 pounds.

I'm confused why there is so little noise about this guy nationally yet he ranks so highly.

Definitely would love to have another 4.3 WR on the roster if the body control, cuts, and route running are there. I think this is someone you take at a lot of positions though if I was the coaching staff id let him play whatever position he wants and if it doesn't work out try and move him to a different position.

Itā€™s probably because he plays at a school thatā€™s never had good football. This year was their first ever winning season in their history

FWIW if he goes to UGA - Kirby wants him as Safety - I know we donā€™t love Kirby but he knows how to evaluate kids on defense.

I still wish he went somewhere else for highschool - The only knock on him is when it comes to the whiteboard and knowing the ends and outs of the game - heā€™s just not getting properly taught compared to kids at big elite programs. Not sure it matters with his measurables - you can catch him up.

Because itā€™s a new program he never leaves the field, I really hope he can stay healthy his senior season.
