You people who say "handlers" have a big misconception of and hv no clue what you're talking about. In most situations ppl are trainers and advisors. As far as making money off of them, you don't make money off of them. Coaches see who the relationships are valuable to with the kid and try and paint a vision with those said persons whether parents, trainers, grandparents, or whoever it is. Coaches need to get the 1 up not any person who is associated with the kid. This is what recruiting is find the key that fits the hole and use it to gain entry. Work that area til the kid has signed an LOI. Coaches pay because it's the culture of the recruiting game. It's not like ppl see the coaches and say we need 150k. Small talk and visibility lead to all those kinds of suggestions and situations. Recruiting in 88% of the situations paying comes down to closing the deal but in some other situations coaches do it just to get the kids on campus.
36 years of coaching HS football and seeing kids ruined by bad advice and personal agendas tell me I have a clue. Not gonna argue with you though. IF you honestly have the best interest of these kids at heart then God Bless You. Other than that, we have to agree to disagree.

Where do you think Heupel can get us recruiting wise with everything happening? Realistically.

To be more specific, where do you see our class ranked at the end of this year and who, if any, instate kids do you foresee coming here

That's hard to determine being everything is fresh. Outisde of Burns and Garner these coaches were recruiting lower tier guys in the south. Then there's CBM-J who was at Michigan but recruited well at Louisville and Texas.

Have you or do you place and recommend teams to a kid where the teams are not paying you?

No way ANYBODY would admit to something like that.

Besides what you're suggesting is not so cut and dry.

There are incentives a coach offers for influence. But how can anyone track that progress?

Tweets?
Interviews?

It starts with unofficial visits.
Then kids narrowing down their colleges.
$500 here. $1,000 there, then the $8,000 to you when the kid signs

So it's more nuanced, but adults are still making money off of the kids.

Why some of you still converse with a clown like de1 is baffling. He has some of you believing he knows things.

Yeah from what I understand he is very talented and athletic, also very smart. Lacks football experience and needs some polish but has a very high ceiling.

The payment has nothing to do with anything. The kids weigh in their decision based on what's the best fit for them long term. The money is only to help a coach or school persuade them to cm there but doesn't Guarantee anything and they know that.

So universities pay you to persuade athletes to pick them?

Or maybe not the universities themselves, but boosters pay you to help direct athletes to their school of choice?

Yeah you’re FOS if you claim you’re looking out for the kids best interest in one post then admitting you accept money to persuade kids to go to particular schools.

You’re looking out for your own best interest and you’re using the kids.

Look you don't get it and I'm tired of trying to explain. Yawl hv no clue and I can't critique how your job functions because I don't do it or it doesn't favor me. But it's not how you described or understand it.
