He has no experience. He started 2 games in 3 years. FB has more game experience than Staub does.I think his experience would be a +, but UT needs to consider what that message would send to the team and fans. 2026 will be a building year for 2027. FB needs experience, faced the #1 defense, and had a chance to win; we shouldn't downplay it. The bigger question is the OL. They looked lost, and blocking assignments were terrible. Can that be fixed? I believe it can; we'll see at Auburn.
I casted a silver spoon into Atlantic surf for years. If there were fish in the water, I caught them. You are implying that my intention is to play you like a fish, but that is not my purpose. I want to win games, wanted to beat Texas which we might have done. However hard they tried, the freshmen QBs were not ready. Brandon just turned eighteen years old, and you want our coaches to throw him to the wolves. Some of you'nes need to call all-stop to the intoxication from overly high expectations. See things as they are and consider making a better decision, instead of hounding our coaches to do the wrong thing.
I like that analogy, casting in the surf, not playing people like a fish.
I offer this analogy... watching Brandon after 5-6x sacks, I thought of when I taught my kid my kid to ride a bike. On day 1, after he fell about 3x, I thought, why keep falling down over and over.... give it a rest, and come back and try tomorrow.
When Brandon went into brain lock after about the 5th sack and his eyes glazed over, he needed a break, just like my kid.
The way Staub can move in the pocket and get RID of the damn ball is exactly what we needed. Definitely deserved a shot in the 4th Q. Say what you want, but he couldn't have done worse than FB.
what are you basing your claims that Staub can move in the pocket and get rid of the ball on?I like that analogy, casting in the surf, not playing people like a fish.

There is literally no precedent for that at this level.what are you basing your claims that Staub can move in the pocket and get rid of the ball on?
His 2 starts in the Big 12? get real, he is no more prepared to face Texas than Brandon was/is.
definitely did not deserve a shot. and he absolutely could have done worse. No TD, and he certainly doesn't have the arm to throw the hail mary at the end of the game.
