Based on the known fact that experienced QBs win more games than freshmen with virtually no experience. Add the known fact that #1 and #2 failed to see wide open receivers, too many times. They were not reading the field and going through their progressions well enough to beat the good SEC teams on the schedule. The Texas defense Forced our QB out of the pocket again and again. Staub might not throw the best long ball, but he can scramble out of the pocket, he can run, he can make short and intermediate completions, and he can throw the ball downfield when a man is open.
