We suck.. Our running game is stagnant and D is horrible..

  • Most yards rushing by a running back (Rajion Neal) at Tennessee since 2009 with 169 yards
  • Three 200-plus yard rushing games, compared to three combined from the span 2010-2012
  • #1 in the NCAA for interceptions with 11
  • #1 in the SEC and third in the country with 15 forced turnovers
  • #1 in the SEC and fourth in the country in fewest penalty yardage
  • #1 in the SEC and eighth in the country in fewest penalties
  • #1 in the SEC and tenth in the country with points off of turnovers
Any questions?

Yeah, and what do all those shiny stats have to show for? Nothing but the same ol BS we've seen on the field the past 4 years!! Sorry, Ive seen no improvement with Jones yet. Hope he proves me wrong and beats either GA or USC.

So improvement to you is only going to be shown if we beat Georgia or SC?

Do you have any idea what's going on?

Our defense has some issues, anyone could see that coming into the season, but I was proud they buckled down at the end of the game and made a stop to secure the victory. In the end, that was the possession that really mattered.

The rushing yards are a very large improvement.

A big part of this is what we are teaching our wideouts. To play at Tennessee you must be a run blocker as well as a pass catcher.

Did anyone else see Jason Croom block two potential tacklers on Lane's long run? That made a 30 yard run a 50 yard run, and it was only a 30 because of another receiver blowing someone up.

Lane stayed with his blockers too. It was a thing of beauty and has been sorely missed around these parts. Of course, Volnation's response to a 53 yard run play was to moan for 10 pages in the game thread about how slow Lane is. :eek:lol:

You would have never seen that play in the last 3 years. Really, really encouraging.

Throw in the interceptions and other bad stats, but that still does not explain what is going on with the program overall. If you don't understand....well you just don't understand.

Them stats don't mean nothing with out Ws to put with them. The bottom line is that it is a new yr with the same results

Yeah RoadWarrior, I know exactly what I going on with this team/program. I can guarantee you Ive been to more UT games (road and home) in one year than you probably have in your whole freakin life so get off your high-horse bro. Im just a passionate fan that expects and demands more from this staff/team! I was hoping to see significant improvements...maybe even a win against FL...but nope, its the same ol bumbling, underachieving bs...

Hey look a silver lining.

Doesn't change the fact that we suffered our worst loss in modern history this season. Making Florida's back up QB look like an AA in their 9th consecutive victory over us didn't help anything either.

If you had kept up with recruiting the past 4 years and which players still remain you'd take any kind of improvement at this point. All you're concerned with is wins and you are just as oblivious to our situation as the next person that whines about it. Here is some advice. Turn off your tv, step away from the computer and forget TN football for the next 2 years because you're going to be seeing a lot more Ls in the outcome column while we "rational" fans are happy with some improvements by our not so talented roster.

Did you really think the O would be better this year?
Why would you think that?

The issue isn't Butch Jones or his staff. The issue is talent (or lack thereof). I get so tickled hearing fans pass judgement on Butch Jones as if he has all of a sudden forgot how to coach. The SEC is NOT a conference where you can "out scheme" your opponent week in and week out. Tennessee is rivaling Kentucky for the worst team in the SEC. Lack of talent reflects hard in the SEC. Tennessee will go as it's recruiting goes. Butch Jones needs 4-5 years to get this cluster of a program back to respectable fashion. Next year will not be much better in my opinion. We need more talent and more than just 1 recruiting class worth.

I just figured new coach, new results. Why couldn't we beat/upset FL? We are Tennessee!! I guess I thought things would change with this new staff. Havent seen it yet. Dooley would be at 3-2 right now, and hes the worst coach in football history!

I can't believe people are raging about how Tennessee looks after 5 games at the helm for Jones. Look at what Saban did at Alabama his first season! Goes to show you how people can jump the gun.

Do half the people on this board even watch football?
