Against Troy TN's time of possession was 22 mins, which got me looking at other games.

Besides the Ga State game TN has been under 25 mins in that category averaging like 24 mins. What can be done to bump that up?

Also would improving that make a difference on Defense, giving them little more break to regroup?

Hell yes.

This is what gets me about the Chaney defenders. Any child could draw plays in the dirt and score with this offense. We've had two quality drives all season.

Despite the worst defense in TN history, we've had chances in the fourth quarter against quality opponents and CHANEY NEVER DELIVERS.

Time of possession is not that important. The number of plays each offense runs is the statistic that should be followed. What difference does it make if the clock keeps running after a rush for no gain, or stops on an incomplete pass? Both result in no yards, yet the offense keeps the ball for more minutes on the zero yard rush.

Hurry up offense. It's great against opposing defenses, but 3 and outs KILL your defense. I still sit on the fence on whether we should run it or not.. (see what I did there?)

Defense could get off the field more if they made a stop

Wouldn't the two go hand in hand, the more plays you run the longer you have possession?

Don't get me wrong, I love it when TN gets that long 40/50 yd play but would it make sense that once you in while go for 10/15 yd plays over and over so that you eat up clock and have the ball. I don't know which would be better so asking the question.

Tell that to the guys playing defense for 35-40 min per game.

It doesn't help our defense that they get very little recovery time between series.

Hurry-up is not required on every drive for offense to score.

Any time you have a big play offense like we do, you're generally not going to dominate time of possession. So I'm not too concerned about that particular stat.

But I'm still definitely NOT a Chaney defender because...

Despite the worst defense in TN history, we've had chances in the fourth quarter against quality opponents and CHANEY NEVER DELIVERS.

So true. UGA, Missy State, USCe.
