Stated on his radio show that Tyler Wilson was the best qb in the SEC, and then my jaw dropped when he said this...."behind Wilson I would probably say Barret Trotter." Brando did go back and say later that he thought Murray was the best qb in the SEC. Barrett Trotter? I mean really?

I can't wait to see Bray and Murray go head to head!

Brando has Top 25 disease. Kind of like how the Heisman has become the best player on a top 5 team.

He probably doesn't even look at the teams that aren't ranked.

I just hollered at him on Twitter:

AJeray4TN: @TimBrando Did you really say that Barrett Trotter is the 2nd best QB in the SEC today? The 2 QB's in Knoxville on Sat night beg to differ.

In Mannings senior season, he passed for a season record of 3,819 yards. Tyler has passed for 1,328, in four games already. If he continues that pace of an average of 332 yards per game for these last 8 games, he will amass 3,984 yards and will surpass Mannings, season passing yardage total.
L.S.U. & Bama will be a hard defense to throw for 300 yards on. He will have to throw short and intermediate passes all game against LSU & Bama, but in the Georgia, USC, MTSU, Arkansas, Vandy & Ky. games, he can get his numbers.
The season record for T.D's. is 36. Bray already has 14, in the first 4 games. At that pace, he will have 42 at the end of the season and will break Manning's record of 36.
Eventually, all of these "So called experts" will have to start admitting the truth. When we start winning, people from the media will jump on the bandwagon. Brando will say " I remember in 2010, prior to the Georgia game, I said Bray was the best college q.b. in the entire nation." I knew it all along." Of course, we will all know that he is lying to make himself look good.

People harp on Bray for not playing in a lot of big games but has that dude seen Trotters numbers against Clemson and South Carolina? 12 of 25 and 12 of 23.

His Response:

TimBrando: @AJeray4TN no I did not. I was simply saying that he has surprisingly competed at a high level. Aaron Murray, Tyler Wilson, then we talk.

My follow up:

AJeray4TN:@TimBrando Out of curiosity, why do most pundits put Murray ahead of Bray? 2010 Murray had wins against ULL, UT, Vandy, UK, Idaho ST, & GT. Bray beat close to the same cast of characters to close out his fresh campaign, and is tagged with "hasn't beaten the big boys."

Bray will receive his due respect once he finishes the Georgia-Alabama-LSU-South Carolina gauntlet.

He will play well, get his yards, and if he can keep the Vols close against 'Bama and LSU, then you'll hear pundits extolling his virtues.

Remember, he has built his numbers against the likes of:

Memphis
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Montana
Buffalo
Cincinnati
North Carolina (Loss)
Florida (Loss)

Not exactly murderer's row.

Everyone builds their numbers against the lesser teams. That is why we should be concerned about our running game against the lesser foes. The two losses were also number builders with Bray moving the ball against anyone when given time. We have an elite QB and the best since the mid 90's.

Amen. I am more worried about our ability to run the ball than I am about who some bozo thinks is the best qb in the SEC.

Let him fly under the radar and maybe he will stay for his senior year. Wishful thinking. NFL scouts want miss his talents.

Fellas, look at the quaterbacks in the SEC. The league is a league of game management quarterbacks. They play not to loose and limit mistakes. Aaron Murray, John Brantley, AJ McCarron and Brandon Trotter. Garcia and Wilson are not afraid to make a play. Murray on the other hand is a real threat to run. That is what the Big O has been hyping all week. His ability to run. If we didn't get a flag for just a good solid hit, I think he wouldn't be so quick to jump his ship and run. Tennessee is the state of riflemen and Bray is exactly that. He can get it done and is not afraid to make a play downfield, unlike the rest who are trying for the perfect play and limit mistakes. As far as proving himself against top flight competition? I think hanging 23 on UF without your top receiver on the road is exactly that and now it's time to develop the depth at wideout for the big year which will be next year. This October is when Bray cuts his teeth on some of the best defenses he will ever see.

So this may sound somewhat crazy, but I have no idea who this Trotter kid is. I'm going through trying to list all the starting QBs in the league and I have never heard of him. Does he play for Ole Miss?

This is what happens when your team hasn't made any noise in a long time. Brando probably doesn't even know all the teams that play in the SEC. He just remembers anyone that has had recent success. Such is the case with most talking heads.
