SEC most expensive- as low as $118

PSU and Oregon- tickets as low as $17

SMU-Clemson- as low as $39

PSU and Oregon set the record for longest distance between 2 school, 2693 miles. I Imagine the Duckkettes are saving up for the important games.

Everyone wants to save for the CFP. Hopefully, after the initial 2 years of the 12 CFP, the powers that be will see the value of more on campus games in the CFP. It is wildly unrealistic to think that an average Tennessee fan or anyone would/could travel to Columbus, Pasadena, Miami or Dallas and then to Atlanta, especially during the holidays. That’s asking too much and also taking away from the sport .

Bunch of reasons for this now.

Several of the schools in the games this year (Texas, Oregon, SMU, Iowa St, and Arizona St) are very far from the site of the game. The only schools within a reasonable driving distance are UGA and Clemson; even Penn St is almost 8 hours away from Indianapolis. The conference title games are less important with the 12-team playoff. With the 12 team playoff, there are potentially 4 additional games your team could play in and you might want to save money for them.

Exactly. Unless you're loaded, you're not going to be able to go to every game. You got to pick your battles.

The conference title games and automatic seeding in the playoffs need to go away.

Knowing the likely outcome, most Duck fans will catch that on TV.

GA/TX obviously will be a great game. If Beck indeed joins the team after driving his Lambo to Mercedes-Benz while the rest are on the bus. IMO, that is the disconnect this season in UGA's offense. He left the team mentally, and paraded himself around. No leadership. I'd wager no single player on a Saban Bama team was ever allowed to drive their fancy car to a game separate from the team. Can't understand Kirby allowing that. Rumor was Beck had someone drive his car to some away game and he drove in from airport instead of team bus. Don't know if that is true or not but to home games is true and prob not a big deal to drive from dorm to clubhouse. I wouldn't think they bus in from the football dorm to the fieldhouse, but what do I know. Even though it's a title game, UGA can't really afford a blowout loss. The committe prob doesn't/shouldn't give much nod to these games unless it's a severe beating.

SMU/Clemson could be fun to watch.

B12 game will be somewhat ho-hum. And somewhere in there we'll have to hear clips from Prime.

That anecdote you mentioned is supposedly Kirby's MO. He has this reputation of being just like Saban, and he definitely is in some aspects, but he's far more of a "player's coach" than Saban is.

He's incredibly energetic and intense, and of course a great recruiter and defensive coach, but he doesn't run the tight ship as far as discipline that Saban did. His rather lackadaisical responses to their driving issues I think says it all.

I could see Texas having a decent showing of fans. First year in SEC and playing for championship, that’s a pretty good memory for some.

They will definitely show. Big fanbase, lots of money and novelty of being at their first SECCG.

The prices at Neyland have been skyhigh this year. I am hoping you guys bankrupt yourselves so I can get some cheaper basketball tickets.

First of all, I'd have the SEC separately from the other leagues. Then I'd factor in people's finances. You can watch that **** @ home. Most everyone can't afford all of these upcoming trips for the two teams who make actually the last game.

But wouldnt the TV money still make the championships worthwhile even if the stands arent full?

How in the world are B1G championship tickets the price of a high school game?

The bowl people won’t let that happen: too much money. On campus games are the best part of the new CFP though.

I sure wouldn’t spend lots of money going to a conf championship game if TN was already a lock for the playoffs. Almost an exhibition game at that point.

Both participants are basically guaranteed playoff berths. They are only playing for seeding and the majority of fan bases will have a meh reaction to such situations always

Add that one of the participants campus is 2000 miles away, it's well into December, and the game is in Indianapolis. Downstream impact of conference realignment. They could at least play the game in Chicago so you could make a full weekend out of things. What else is there to do in Indy except go to the steakhouse?

I mean if I was in the Indianapolis metro, even ad a complete neutral, I feel like it’s a no-brainer for that price. But then I’m a college football sicko like most on this board.

Lucas Oil Stadium is in downtown Indy.

I agree that most regular visitors to this or many other CFB boards would throw down a 20 for a ticket if they were a few hours away.

Ma and Pa from Eugene, Oregon who like their Ducks but nobody else could probably find better use for the money. Playoffs are coming soon (and actually matter) and entry price for those tickets are gonna be a huge nut to crack.
