Now I know as of now, he hasn't even hinted at the least as to where he is transferring to. But maybe, just maybe, he is aware of our QB problem. And may show some interest in being a Vol. We all know Kiffin can show him a good time and talk him into transferring here. As of now, tssituation this year.his looks like the option to save our QB
We can only hope that he notices our QB situation. We know why he has transferred 100 times. Because he does't want to compete. I can gauranty he won't have any problem beating Crompton, Stevens, and Coleman.

From what I've seen, in his days as a UM starter. He looked fine, he is't great by any means. But by far, he is an upgrade over any QB we have right now. Now I don't know what yall's opinions are on Threet. But I would like to know: How do yall grade him ? Would yall welcome him here in Tennessee ? Would he fit in with the new system ? And any other thoughts ?

Thanks,

Wrong

He might fit in good at Arkansas. I believe this is the kid's second team already (could be wrong, but thought that I read that somewhere). Sounds like a Petrino quarterback.

Not true about the kid. And if you were in his shoes you would prolly transfer as well. He was recruited to play in a pro-style system which is completely the opposite of what UM will run. I don;t blame the kid one bit.

Another guy that transferred from Michigan is already going to be playing there for the next couple of years, Ryan Mallett.

Actually it is true. He transferred from GA Tech in 2007. I just don't think that we want a QB who likes to bolt every 2 years. Thanks for playing.

By the way, my post was just a jab at Arkansas because of Petrino bolting after a year. I know that they are set at QB with Mallet.

He is quite possibly the worst QB I watched play at a major school last year, with the possible exception of his backup (and that includes Crompton, Stephens and Coleman). Also, transfers have to sit a year.

Well, he's only moving around because he can't get into a pro style offense. Give the kid a damn break. Seriously. He signed with GT, only to have Johnson come in with his triple option. When that happened, he bolted for Michigan, because they ran a pro style offense. Then Rodiguez came in and installed the spread. Anybody in his situation, wanting to actually compete to start, would want to transfer. You are 100% incorrect to think he doesn't want to compete. He just wants to be in a position to compete. Right now, he has no chance of making the field, because he's a pro style QB in a spread offense. Would you want to be a 6'2" (4.9 40) QB going to Oregon? No. The only problem is that Threet has gotten very unlucky with his college choices. Why attack him for trying to make things right?

In his defense, he was playing in the spread offense, which is unsuitable for his size and speed. He would have been perfect in our system when Cut was here.

Being that I watch a lot of Michigan football I have to say that Threet is not absolutely terrible but I don't want him to come to Tennessee we have enough QB drama...Threet reminds me too much of Crompton in that he is so inconsistent..he has flashes of good maybe even great but he will not help the vols in ANY way

True he wasn't consistent but he was great compared to his backup nick sheridan.

Do you really think the Clawfense was suitable for any QB last year? Threet was terrible even after taking into account the offense.

Maybe he could go to Division 1-AA and play immediately instead of sitting out again. Rhett Bomar is getting a lot of looks at the NFL combine after getting the boot from Oklahoma and finishing his career at Sam Houston State.

you also have to take into account that he was working with only one returning starter on offense and that being a horrible right tackle. the injuries to the O line resulted in 3rd string D linemen coming over to play O line. He had no experience in the backfield with him or on the outsides either.

I personally hope he goes somewhere else as I do not want anybody ruining a possible shot at some of the stud QB's We are making a run at.

I feel sorry for the kid. First Bobby Johnson brings in the triple option and the Rich Rod brings in the run first spread. One could say he is not a luck guy.

Plus, he's not any better than the 3 we already have on campus. Not to mention, we're going to pull in one maybe two stud qb's this recruiting season.

He'll end up at a Div II school or Div-1AA so he can play right away. He's getting old.
