Three former Vols will be on the Board of Trustees

Sounds like a new wing is being built onto the Board of Trustees mansion, one that doesn't have Haslam fingerprints all over it.

If that's how it actually is, then I'm 100% in favor. *thumbsup*
I agree. Also, keep them away from Fulmer and Jeremy Pruitt, and let them do their jobs together. The rhetoric is no more. Fulmer has taken the laughing stock of the football program, and has put it in the basement with lock and key.

Is the answer an oversight committee, i.e. even more bureaucracy?

Seems like you'd be better off with a strong personality at the top, a real leader. Someone very experienced in college athletics, but not afraid to offend the current power structure at that particular university. Like a former AD at a school out west. No agenda other than getting UT athletics generally, and football in particular, back on track.

With Randy Boyd being named president of the university I believe Haslam will have an even bigger clutch on things. Boyd is Haslam's puppet and was hand picked by Haslam to run for governor of the state. They need to get Boyd away from the university asap.

The article mentioned a meeting tonight....wasn't this the same meeting last year at Blackberry Farm where the Gruden deal was all but done? LOL

I'm thinking this is an end around move to help keep the Haslam family from continuing to interfere in the football program in particular and the other athletic programs in general. Governor Haslam remade the board and cut it from 27 to 12, it was intended to stack the board with Haslam puppets who would rubber stamp what ever that family wanted. Randy Boyd being named to replace DiPietro was the first step.

Unfortunately, this. Boyd is a Haslam man through and through. His title is still just "Interim" correct?
