Former Texas Democratic Rep. Beto O'Rourke said Thursday that he would "absolutely" support tearing down existing barriers along the southern border with Mexico, in a full-throated embrace of open-borders rhetoric that has left conservatives wondering where other potential 2020 Democratic White House hopefuls stand on the issue.

O'Rourke's comments came as the House and Senate passed a compromise spending billthat would partially fund President Trump's proposed border wall, to the tune of $1.4 billion. Trump, who had been pressing for billions more, has vowed to declare a national state of emergency to fund the remainder of the project.

Amid the congressional debate, Texas GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw wrote on Twitter earlier Thursday that he wanted O'Rourke to answer a simple question: "If you could snap your fingers and make El Paso’s border wall disappear, would you?" He cited Department of Homeland Security (DHS) figures suggesting that illegal border crossings dropped sharply in El Paso following the construction of a wall there.

MSNBC host Chris Hayes posed a version of that question to O'Rourke on-air: "Would you, if you could, would you take the wall down here -- knock it down?"

"Yes, absolutely," answered O'Rourke, who is widely thought to be a potential candidate in 2020 but has not formally announced his intention to run. "I'd take the wall down."

Well that puts that question to rest about progressive liberals wanting open borders .
I think they are eventually going to go so far left into the weeds that they will lose the Dems that are trying to stay conservative .

Trump didn’t create a lunching atmosphere or reality , KH is trying to use some really unlealist fear mongering to go along with her lying about smoking Weed while listening to snoop dog and Tupac ( that’s all in her ) .
Oprah is promoting a potential candidate who openly supports open borders . Nobody caused her to do that , it’s a personal choice . Do you know what a country without borders is called ? Think about it , do you really want that ? Lol .

VIDEO: Immigration Authorities in Southern Mexico Attacked by Migrant Caravan

Mexican immigration authorities were attacked by members of a new Central American caravan which illegally crossed from Guatemala on Monday. The group of at least 500 pelted officials with rocks, causing damage to vehicles and minor injuries at a roadblock.

Mexican immigration officials (INAMI) in Chiapas attempted to turn back a caravan which arrived approximately a week ago at Guatemala’s southern border with Mexico. The group was growing daily and demanded passage via international border bridge in Suchiate, according to local reporting. The group was told by Mexican officials that the issuance of one-year humanitarian visas was suspended and migrants would need to return to their countries of origin to contact Mexican consulates, according to another report. The migrants were reportedly warned that those who crossed traveled without proper documentation would be deported. Two smaller migrant groups of 150 and 200 were recently rounded up by INAMI and Federal Police.

REPORT: Caravan Migrants Try to Rush Texas Border

A group of Central American migrants tried to rush one of the international ports of entry from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, into Laredo, Texas. The move forced U.S. authorities to shut down the gateway.

The incident took place at Port of Entry #1 in Nuevo Laredo when a group of about 30 walked to the international bridge and jumped into the vehicle lane in an apparent attempt to cross into Texas and request asylum.

According to Mexican journalists on the ground, the move was met with a show of force from U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers who blockaded the bridge and stopped all traffic until the migrants turned around. About two hours later, authorities allowed pedestrians with travel documents into Texas, while migrants were asked to leave the area.

The migrants are believed to be Hondurans from the various caravans who still have not been able to request asylum in the U.S. The recent push in Nuevo Laredo comes days after authorities closed a migrant shelter in Piedras Negras that housed approximately 2,000 at its peak.

Border Patrol Chief: Agents Are Being Diverted Away From Combatting Drug Cartels to Care for Kids and Families

Speaking in front of the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday on Capitol Hill, Border Patrol Chief Carla Provost explained how agents are being diverted from their mission of border security in order to care for thousands of unaccompanied children and families illegally crossing the southern border into the United States.

"Each day nearly 25 percent of my agents are diverted away from our border security mission to transport, care for and process family members and unaccompanied minors," Provost said. "As more migrants arrive with medical needs, agents are transporting and escorting an average of 55 people a day to medical facilities. We are committed to addressing this humanitarian need, but we know when agents are occupied narcotics smugglers, criminal aliens, gang members and others use the opportunity to violate our borders and our laws."

This week President Trump ordered an additional 1,000 U.S. National Guard troops to be stationed at the border. Like the already deployed 5,000 troops, they will back Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement in an administrative and logistical capacity.

Previously Deported Illegal Alien Convicted of Child Rape After Release by Sanctuary City

A previously deported illegal alien convicted of RAPING a CHILD has been sentenced to less than two years in prison for re-entering the United States after the sanctuary city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, protected him from being deported.

Honduran illegal alien and convicted child rapist Juan Ramon-Vasquez was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the U.S. after being deported in May 2009.

After being deported in 2009, Ramon-Vasquez was found to be living back in the country in March 2014 in Philadelphia. At the time, the illegal alien child rapist was in Philadelphia Prison Department custody, but the local authorities refused to turn Ramon-Vasquez over to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents for deportation due to the city’s sanctuary city policy that shields criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation.

Once released from Philadelphia officials’ custody, Ramon-Vasquez went on to REPEATEDLY RAPE A CHILD and was convicted for the rapes, being sentenced to eight to 20 years in state prison. The illegal aliens’ federal prison sentence will now be added on to his state sentence for the child rapes.

If not for Philadelphia’s sanctuary city policy, prosecutors and ICE officials said the repeated rape of the illegal aliens’ child victim would have never occurred.
