Thoughts on Gerald Jones at QB (merged)

It's been discussed a few times on here. I'd like to see him in as permanent QB, but that's just me.

mainly a no since a) havent seen him throw at all and b) he's our best wr right now, that core goes down pretty hard the next few years w/o him

the announcer said he's the only one on our offense that could play like the Florida Guys.

well, warren too. but he's not given the ball enough..

If he can throw then Fulmer is either keeping it secret or he doesn't have permission.

It seems like a good idea and is something I'd like to try, but Fulmer won't give anyone else a chance.

At this point i don't see why not.Because we need any kind of spark at the worst possible way.

Lets give stephens a shot but if that doesn't work out put Gerald Jones in and run options and wishbones over and over. THrow in a pass everyonce in a while. Become an option running team and just gridn out games.

The G-gun formation looked wide open for a pass the whole game, I would have really liked to seen a pass at least once just to show that we can pass with GJ at QB.

At least throw a screen out of it. That would be the shiznit. A roll out screen to Warren!!!

I'd like to know that he could make some reads. Most high school QBs just throw the ball and don't really make reads.

Coaches rave about GJ's football IQ. Put the kid in and let him run the offense. GO VOLS!!

And have a very good chance at winning out? I find it hard to believe the problems we’re having are Clawson’s fault and I feel if Gerald is as smart as everyone say’s he is he could easily run this offense. I think if Clawson would put him under QB, Thin the play book a bit so he would at least have some plays where he throws to people, I think the Threat of Jones, Foster, Hardesty in the Backfield with Warren, Briscoe and Taylor we could win out.

Dang it… Jones for QB!!!

I don't think so cause jones has been our best reciever so far but i think he would do much better than crompton...too bad fulmer will just pat crompton on the back and tell him he'll do better next time:/
