Next week Auburn vs 0-3 Ball St

So far:

Auburn 41 West Virginia 30
Auburn 49 Miss State 24
Auburn 37 La Tech 13

Will be 4-0 when they face Tennessee

Guz Malzahn has their offense playing well. Much tougher game now? Thoughts?

Malzahn is the best Offensive Coordinator in College Football. Period.

stats don't lie, and since being hired by Arkansas to take that position he hasn't had a losing season, and has had a top 5 Offense every year. This looks like it will be his 4th year with one.

Even we, with Jonathan Crompton, in all of his terribleness, would be 4-0 with THAT schedule. I mean, come on now. Everyone thought Florida would beat us by 50. Why? Because they beat two high school teams by 100.

Tennessee will win this game and take Auburn off there high horse as well as that loser of a coach they hired. Can't even win in the small 12. Pathetic.

They haven't faced a Top 20 defense yet.

West Virginia 39th Total Defense
Miss St. 44th Total Defense
La Tech 98th Total Defense

Not exactly stout defenses.

My thoughts? They haven't been tested, and won't be until they come to Knoxville on Oct. 3rd. And, as Hat said, they will leave Neyland with their first loss of the season.

Their offense is much improved but look at the defenses they've faced. There is no way their offense is better than Florida. Their defense is questionable as well. I predict us winning the battle up front w/ Tennessee running for 200 yds. This game is very winnable as long as the game is NOT in the hands of Crompton.

They have a veteran OL, good backs, an innovative OC, but not great WR's. They have a consistent kicker with good distance.

My question is how we can put points on the scoreboard, as every team from now on will put 8-9 men in the box to stop the run?

i think the UCLA game will be an outlier for us this season. look at our offense from WKU and FL. it looked completely different than against UCLA. who knows what cromptpn's deal was against UCLA, but he looked like a completely different qb in the other games. go ahead and say it was "the same old crompton" yesterday, but i saw a different guy out there (excluding about 3 plays). he looked poised and comfortable because the coaches knew how to use him effectively. i think we can expect to see him improve as the season progresses and he gets more comfortable. who knows though? maybe yesterday was the outlier and he really is as bad as some of you make him out to be. either way, i'm still pulling for him.

I think Auburn is the surprise team of the SEC so far.

Impossible to say that based on the level of competition they've faced to this point. WVU isn't good and it took Auburn about 57 minutes of game time to put it out of reach.

Their offense is moving it very well. Haven't played a UT type D yet though. Not too sure about their defense. I wont get excited until I see UT play Ohio next week. They desperately need to work on downfield passing plays.

UT mostdef needs to work on Down the field throws against Ohio, once we get the point in the game where we can.

Bold prediction considering we haven't beat them in ten years. That's a 0-4 run. It'll be anything but easy.
